Extremely Disappointing Experience – Not Even Close to a 5-Star Hotel I am writing this review to alert international and local guests who may believe they are booking a genuine 5-star hotel. My experience at Wisteria Hotel Tehran was deeply disappointing and does not reflect even one-star value, especially considering the extremely high prices charged. I stayed at this hotel for two nights while undergoing surgery. Knowing my condition, the hotel offered me a suite at a very high price, comparable to international luxury 5-star hotels. Unfortunately, what I received was shocking. The so-called “suite” contained nothing except basic furniture and a bed. There were no amenities, no comfort, no luxury—absolutely nothing that justifies the price. The most disturbing part was cleanliness. The bedsheet had visible men’s body hair on it, which is unacceptable at any hotel level, let alone a property claiming to be 5-star. This alone shows a complete lack of hygiene and basic housekeeping standards. The breakfast was another major disappointment. It was below motel level, with very limited and poor-quality options. Even worse, the restaurant staff appeared unclean, and there was a strong unpleasant body odor, making it very uncomfortable to stand near them. This is not only unprofessional but raises serious hygiene concerns. On my checkout day, I asked to use the washroom in the lobby. Instead of a nearby facility, I was told to go to P6 (six floors underground). I had just undergone surgery, was freezing, and was sent to a dark, empty, and insecure underground area. The toilet itself was in a condition similar to a public roadside restroom. This experience was humiliating and unsafe. What is most concerning is that this hotel is officially rated as 5-star. Based on my experience, I strongly believe this rating does not reflect reality. The price is equal to international 5-star hotels, but the quality, service, cleanliness, and professionalism are at a one-star level at best. I believe the Iranian Ministry of Tourism and Hospitality should seriously re-evaluate the star rating of this hotel, as it is misleading guests—especially those coming from abroad who expect international standards. I am writing this review to protect future guests, particularly international travelers, from false expectations. This hotel is not worth the money, not safe for post-surgery stays, and does not meet even basic hospitality standards, let alone 5-star luxury. Final verdict: ❌ Extremely poor value for money ❌ Unacceptable cleanliness ❌ Misleading 5-star rating ❌ Not recommended under any circumstances
