O by Tamara offers a tale of two experiences: the facilities earn a solid 4 stars, while the service standards hover around 3 stars—creating an interesting contrast that management should address.
The Good: The hotel's facilities are genuinely excellent and well worth the visit. The infrastructure and amenities reflect thoughtful design and quality investment.
The Challenging: The service execution, unfortunately, doesn't match the facility standards. During our stay, we found ourselves repeating requests multiple times—whether at the restaurant or with general hotel staff. The breakfast service was particularly entertaining in an unintended way: the staff exhibited what I'd call ”Brownian motion hospitality”—lots of energetic movement, but not always in productive directions. Items were frequently forgotten, and follow-ups became necessary more often than expected.
The Concerning: We requested a late checkout until 1:00 PM. The front desk approved only a 30-minute extension, yet our bill reflected a 2-hour late checkout. This discrepancy requires immediate attention from management.
Recommendations: The property would benefit from comprehensive staff retraining to align service quality with the excellent facilities. Additionally, rooms and common areas could use renovation to maintain the overall standard.
Bottom Line: The facilities make this hotel worth considering, but the management team needs to invest in service training and operational consistency. With these improvements, O by Tamara could easily become a standout property.
I remain hopeful that management will address these concerns promptly.

II.saatWe loved the breakfast buffet — such a great variety and everything was delicious. The room was clean, spacious, and very comfortable. The front desk staff were polite and efficient, and the waiters were consistently attentive and helpful. Overall, a wonderful stay.

GGuest UserThe environment is good, the service is warm, the rooms are comfortable, and the prices are reasonable. Had a buffet dinner for about RMB 60, and the dishes were plentiful. It's also a ten-minute walk from the beach and worth staying.

GGuest UserThe Leela, Kovalam is an amazing hotel, which my 11 year old son and I would highly recommend! It is on a cliff top overlooking the Arabian Sea. We upgraded to Club Room, which provides you with access to The Cafe, a restaurant serving Club members complimentary breakfast 7-10:30am and High Tea 5-6pm and additional a La carts chargeable lunch and dinner. The Club room is exceptional, with a balcony with table and chairs overlooking the Arabian Sea, King bed with very comfortable mattress and bedding, fantastic walk in shower, sink and toilet, with all the toiletries. Rooms are cleaned well and the food is wonderful. We ate everything safely with no upset stomached here and the staff were wonderful! We would happily return!

GGavinAngOverall, I am happy to stay here throughout this one week simply because all the staff are super friendly. Greetings to me every day and smile all the time.
Only some personal comments regarding the hotel access card, no disturb/ clean my room card are not 5 star hotel standard.
Most importantly is the hygiene issues need some effort or improvement. The drinking water cap is dirty, the cup is dirty, the wall gets mouldy, etc.
Most of the food in the restaurant is not available. Advice to simplify the menu.
Gym facilities are old, some already spoiled and not fixing yet. No towel provided.

GGuest UserIt is a shared apartment/a rental in the nice residential area of Trivandrum. The host was a very kind and welcoming person. Even though we just stayed a night, we would love to be back. It was reasonably priced and decent, quite close to some good restaurants and usually quiet and safe streets and neighbourhood. It is quite close to both the train station and the airport (about 15 minutes). Recommended for families.

SShijin S ShajiThis hotel is definitely not a 4-star property as it claims to be. The rooms are surely clean and comfortable, but the positives end there. The service is absolutely appalling. I ordered a coffee but they failed to serve it even in one hour despite reminding them twice. Once after taking shower all the water were overflowing through under the door to bedroom. The breakfast was a joke. There was no buffet and there were only two options - Puri sabzi or toast! They didn't even have tea or coffee ready. After a couple of reminders they finally brought coffee. I gulped it down with a toast and hurried off to check out. Opt for this hotel if you get it cheap but don't be under the delusion that you'll get a 4-star experience!

GGuest UserThe hotel’s cleanliness was satisfactory, but the food left much to be desired. Not only was it of poor quality, but it was also outrageously overpriced. The breakfast selection was shockingly limited. I didn’t use room service, so i can’t speak to that. The room itself was decent, but there were glaring issues: the wash basin in the toilet is mounted far too low, making it an awkward struggle for taller guests. Worse yet, the closet seat cover was improperly installed, adding to the discomfort. When i requested a slightly later checkout, the front office manager bluntly refused, citing that since i booked, no flexibility was allowed. As a result, i had to pack up and leave by 9:30 am, which was completely inconvenient. I won’t be staying here again, and i certainly wouldn’t recommend it to anyone looking for a decent experience.

GGuest UserI booked a sea view room, although it is sea facing room but the view is blocked because of trees but 4th floor has little sea view. Staff is really helpful, polite and provide service 24hr. There's no lunch and dinner at this place but there are lot of options nearby and outside food is allowed inside.
