Gratiot View Motel

Very small rooms in this old-fashioned roadside motel. Some cosmetic upgrades have taken place but there's only so much you can do for an old cinder block building. The biggest problem was heat. It's radiant heat with no way to control it. They have a fake thermostat for a central air furnace on the wall, but it does nothing. It's March and the only way to get the heat below 80 is to leave windows open! Doesn't feel to safe leaving ground level windows open. We were roasting hot. We also had ants. The mattress was super hard, so in conjunction with the heat, we didn't sleep much. The motel is pet friendly, which means they charge you $20 per night for pets. Not sure how this qualifies as friendly. Our dog didn't use linens, towels, or eat some dry cereal from their "continental breakfast" so I'm not sure why we paid more. Might be better to be here in summer and use the wall mounted air conditioner, but we'll never come back in winter.

Clean room and friendly helpful staff, beds and facility in general were older but met our needs for our brief stay.

We were very happy with the remolded room. Very comfortable, clean and smelled great. We are hoping you will remodel the outside and redo parking lot to make it a great motel to stay!! We will definitely stay again it was very quiet and the man working the desk was so friendly and very accommodating. I would definitely recommend

Very friendly staff but poor breakfast Room was clean and nice it was small but nice bathroom was extremely small if your tall you put your face into the wall basically to sit on the toilet, My husband asked for another set of towels and he ended up with dirty washcloth he washed it himself before he could use it in his shower. Hotels said commentary breakfast till 10 but there was no breakfast at most it’s grab in go maybe a bowl of dry cereal.

Was nice, clean and quiet only thing wrong was bathroom so small you couldn't turn around toilet too close to wall knees touch wall in front of you and toilet almost touched the sink cabinet on the right nice size shower though

The hotel staff were very kind and attentive and quickly got us into our rooms. The room we stayed in was clean, smelled nice, and was spacious. The bed sheets and pillow covers were new, and the carpet had no dirt or stains on them. The bathroom seemed to be freshly renovated with marble flooring on the bathroom floor, complete marble shower, and also a marble backsplash behind the sink. There were a couple good spots to eat around too, I highly recommend visiting Mooney’s ice cream and cake! Overall, a great hotel and would definitely visit again if i’m in the area.

Recently renovated and clean. Staff were friendly and courteous. Would stay there again.

Enjoyed my stay! Nice staff and great place to stay for families. Rooms are being renovated and I was able to get a good bang for my buck. It’s a quiet and serene area without a lot of noise, and Meijers is right across the street. Thank you guys I really enjoyed my stayed at Gratiot View Motel I will be coming back again.
