Disappointing. 1. Was greeted poorly upon arrival by front desk staff who not only spoke close to no English but had terrible attitudes. 2. We were initially ignored when we said we wanted to check in and were only attended to, albeit rather rudely, when we repeated ourselves. 3. It totally spoiled our first impression of The St. Regis as we expected at the very least, basic courtesy at check in from an establishment which brands itself as a ”luxury hotel” 4. The front desk staff's command of English was so poor that they told us check out time was at 8pm, only corrected after we clarified. The staff was also unable to confirm if payment was made, and we had to type it out on our phones to verify that payment will be deducted from a deposit. 5. None of the other usual information (eg. Wifi details, pool/gym opening hours was relayed to us). 6. Poor cleanliness at some areas: Additionally, plates at breakfast were dirty (brown liquid stains on them) and there was litter in the elevators. 7. Management really ought to invest in training the staff better. 8. On our part, we really would not recommend visitors to Tianjin to stay at The St. Regis. Your money would be better spent elsewhere.

Normally I am very satisfied with this hotel but this time the pool & the gym we’re closed - I just booked this hotel because of these facilities. If the hotel would show this information on the APP before, I wouldn’t have booked this stay here… I am disappointed this time. The room service also took about 25 minutes longer as expected & the “fresh” pineapple juice was definitely NOT fresh! - it was from a bottle & not as in the description. The watermelon juice was fresh & OK. The breakfast selection was also very limited this time - I ate something outside after this breakfast…

I am a fan of IHG hotels. Stay there for a night and when I got my room there is a slight hiccups where the room wasn’t turned over from the previous guest BUT thank you for the fast assistance from the front desk team who managed to move me immediately and apologetic about the situation (which very appreciated) it was a sweet gesture and their professionalism top notch. Bed were confortable but aircon slightly warm perhaps due to winter-ish season that the ac had only heather programed. Breakfast was delicious. As i have some diet restrictions. The F&B team were accomodating. Honestly, my short stay was feeling super warm. Everyone there knows how to serve their customers well. Will defo comeback. Thank you!!!

We stayed just one night and didn’t use any of the other amenities the hotel has to offer. This review is strictly about the room. The bed was large, plush, and very comfortable. The bathroom was clean, the tub was large, the water pressure was high, and the soap smelled incredible (kind of like bananas). The room itself was large, comfortable, and had three televisions! The hotel seems wall-maintained, the staff was friendly, and the location is very convenient. We didn’t have a view of the River, but the view we had was pleasant. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others coming into Tianjin.

Check-in was quite easy considering the times that we are now living in. The room was quite big, with a nice view. Although, it would have been nice if there was a floor length mirror in the actual room, instead of hidden in a wardrobe — but that’s just a minor problem. The food at breakfast was quite bad, and a lot of the food under heat lamps was cold. Some of the foods were badly translated: “lemon water” was labelled as “lemon squash”. In saying that, the staff were very friendly and some did speak English.

This is my first time travelling solo in China, I highly recommend this place as it's affordable, comfortable and the environment is very chill. The location is a little bit difficult to find if you are a foreigner. You will see a hair salon under the building, from the left of the hair dresser walk a few stores you will see big glass doors and stairs inside, walk up to the top floor where you will immediately enter the reception where you will be greeted by a very helpful 阿姨 Auntie, she is very understanding and is able to assist you. They have the essential facilities that you will need to make your stay as smooth as possible. Washing Machine, one seperate shower and Communal showers, and two restrooms, one squat and 1 western toilet. The rooms are spacious and the beds are comfortable, each room has Air conditioning. The wifi is strong in the reception area. overall I was very satisfied with my stay as I needed a place to stay and do my travels in morning, but this place is great.
