Somerset Olympic Tower Tianjin

The room was pretty tidy, clean and spacious. I booked the hotel just because the pool but using wasn’t that satisfactory. The pool is inside a private gym and there are lots of swimming coaches who don’t let you swim because they feel they are the owner of the place. The coaches are very rude as well. The pool is not a place you can’t relax and enjoy with your family for sure. The manager of the hotel had to come to try and solve the problem which it was already too late (we have argued with 2 of the coaches because they were being impolite and crossing the line with us). To apologies, the manager gave us a 200 yuan discount ticket we could use in one of the restaurant downstairs. Overall the hotel was good, just have in mind if you want to use the pool.

We checked in at the "Somerset Olympic Tower", late Saturday night. This, as another branded hotel, disappointed us greatly, due to basic facilities not being available (we checked out). Upon arrival at the Somerset Olympic Tower, we were warmly received, by the front of house. Special thanks to "Avery", for her hospitality and for making us feel right at home, much appreciated. Note: Check in and check out, was effortless and prompt, the way it should be. Thank you. Our suite was exceptionally well equipped. A well layed out kitchen, with major (Fridge, Washing Machine) and minor appliances (Microwave) as well as cutlery and crockery. (Everything you need, for a long or short stay). The dining room had a table and chair set, suitable for family or friends. We enjoyed the lounge area as well, the sofa was comfortable and the area is well organised. There is an office area as well, should you require the use of a desk. The bedroom has a on suite bathroom, equiped with a bathtub / shower combination. We found the bed to be comfortable, with quality bedding on it. The suite has numerous windows, with clear city views. Breakfast (buffet) was excellent, with a great selection (Western and Chinese Style). The facilities are on international standard. Guests can enjoy a fully equiped professional gymnasium, and a heated swimming pool during their stay. Overall we were extremly satisfied with the service received, the facilities and the meals. We look forward to visiting the "Somerset Olympic Tower" often, and in the near future.

Second time I have stayed here and had it was even better than last time. Huge apartment. Very well equipped. Wonderful views. Comfortable bed. Outstanding staff. Brilliant location. Nice breakfast. This is a lovely place to stay.

Everything is excellent!

Having a night out with your friends in Tianjin? Somerset is the most convenient place to stay and quite affordable. Just downstairs are some of the best night life places. It’s in the middle of everything and their breakfast is absolutely divine.

Huge apartment but two of the rooms were closed. Apart from that, great experience except the bed a bit too hard for me.

I wouldn’t recommend this hotel during peak holiday season. I booked a suite specifically because I wanted the big balcony and the view from the high floor, but due to the many bookings, we were given the 6th floor at first, I explained the situation, so they gave us the 13th, which had a nice view but definitely NOT the balcony shown in the picture, and a little one instead. They need to specify the information or change the pictures. Won’t bother paying more for something that I won’t get during peak season. However, the gym facilities were exceptional. We were very surprised and used it every day during our stay, because of the gym and the perfect location near the historical area, we had a good stay overall.
