Hotel Palacio Azteca

The hotel is currently undergoing a large renovation. It's very much needed and welcomed in order to keep up with today's current demands. The place got stuck in the 90's, to say it best. The location is ideal! Within walking distances of coffee shops, restaurants, quick eateries, and convenient stores. The location also sits within a few miles of nightlife activities, shops, and other ethic restaurants. The front desk staff could work on improving their customer relations, engagement, and interactions which would improve the stay of its guests. The onsite restaurant has good food with live music. The restaurant staff is their gem! Exceptional service and attentiveness to detail was quite refreshing after a long journey just to get there. Currently, in my humble opinion, the hotel is a 3 of 5 with lots of room to improve. Maybe the property's "facelift" will improve the morale and make guest's stays a lot more enjoyable.

Staffs are very helpful and friendly, specially front desk and house keeping , and Sergio in house keeping- 5/5 Location - everything is within walking distance -4.5/5 Facility - a bit old not maintained well 3.5/5 Breakfast - don't have a lot of options 4/5 Amenities 3/5 Would I stay here... Yes I would. Love the staffs and location. If they improve on amenities and facility....they should get 5/5

Location is 6 minutes away from San Ysidro boarder. Great location and very safe.

Not my first stay. Had to be transferred to a different room because our door didn’t lock. Had to call customer service 5 times for this! Do NOT pay $25 for their buffet after 10am. Their pictures on website do NOT match what they serve you. We were HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED! Not only did they have few selections but the selections they did have were practically empty! Also, an employee told me there’s no difference in the early buffet/ the one that comes free with your reservation & the buffet they charge $25 for after 10am. I was told they’re 2 different kinds. Please do NOT waste your money! I did complain & whatever I wanted to eat at the buffet, they asked to cook to make it. I shouldn’t have to have that done but grateful they did that for my husband & I. Our room was clean but severely outdated. The beds are uncomfortable because they are so hard! They need to be replaced. We also had tiny pillows. If you pay for a Queen bed, prepare yourself for getting a Full size bed. Our bed was NOT a Queen sized bed at all. I would only stay here again if my go to hotel was booked. I pay a little bit more at the Grand Hotel but it’s worth it.

Its like they used paper for the exteriors walls. It was like i laid down on the sidewalk on a busy street. Wow, never heard street noise that loud ever. Seriously I even dreamed the road went through my room.
