Review of Classic Hotel---Tirana, Albania There is a serious problem at Classic Hotel in Tirana regarding the heating and hot water systems. After 10 days in Room 203, spanning Feb. 4-14, 2023, I am surmising that both systems need to be entirely replaced, and that retro-fitting them into the existing building structure is going to be a major undertaking---possibly requiring the hotel to be closed for several months. Most of the hotel guest rooms were empty during my stay. It would seem that all of the locals know that there is NO HEAT, and NO HOT WATER in the hotel rooms. It's only the out-of-towners that get caught unaware. If you scan back through the guest reviews from a year ago (in ***********), you can see clearly that this is not a new problem. In fairness, I need to acknowledge that the WiFi was working well, and so was the elevator---these had not been working well on my only previous visit November 3-8, 2022. Housekeeping has always been good. The hotel might represent an interesting investment opportunity for the right developer. The location is nice, and the building, otherwise, has a lot of nice features. Check to see whether there are bank debts and liens on the property---and you may be able to force a buy-out at an attractive price.

I knew this was going to be a special place to stay before even arriving in Albania: I received a friendly, professional and quick response to my email request to book a secure parking space. The hotel is well situated and smart. My deluxe room was simply superb, spacious, with coffee/tea making facilities (being English; give me a kettle and a teabag and I'm happy!) and an elegant en-suite. Ravenous on arrival in the early afternoon, I had tasty pasta on the Italian restaurant terrace. The food was so good that I immediately dropped the idea of eating elsewhere that evening... I had sea bass with grilled vegetables and a glass of Albanian white wine: delicious. But the best thing about my stay was the team. They are welcoming, charming, efficient and it's obvious they enjoy working together. I have rarely encountered such an amazing welcome and service. I had a smile from start to finish.
