Best Hotels in Titisee

The overall experience at this hotel is just disappointing. Rooms are far from elegant and lack the basics of any 4 stars hotel rooms. No tissue, no water, no slippers, no laundry bags and no iron machine. The bathroom fan can't be controlled and only works every once in a while which is very embarrassing when you are sharing the bathroom with someone else. The glasses in the bathroom were not clean. We cleaned the toilet use ourselves before the 1st use cause it didn't look well cleaned. When requested from the reception they say you'd have to wait until the next morning cause the room keeping department had closed and they fail to send it the other day when asked again. The breakfast area is small and suitable for winter, but not for summer. It is indoor with no air ventilation. If you book here dreaming of having your breakfast outdoors to enjoy the air and the lack I'm sorry to disappoint you, but that won't happen. When we asked to sit outside we were told that it is not allowed although some other people were already there having their breakfast. The service is slow. The waiters are overloaded and can't afford to smile. The food offered in the breakfast buffet is average. There was only 1 kind of cheese the whole time and then a board of assorted cheese appeared on the buffet 30 minutes before closing time. There was no change of cutlery. We had to eat fruits with the same cutlery that we used for eggs. The waiter didn't seem well informed and she wasn't sure about anything. She also barely spoke English. Although everyone in the town did. The experience would have been better if the hotel was cheaper and if it was rated as 3 stars instead of 4. But, it's the high expectations that disappointed us. The hotel could definitely use a lot of reannovation and enhancements.

The Action Forest Hotel is a lovely little hotel situated perfectly for both the train station and Titisee town centre. The hotel staff are very friendly, and welcoming. Let’s start with the good: The apartment was exceptionally clean! Also breakfast was good! Where we found to be room for improvement was the basic kitchen amenities. First we had to get a box with kitchen supplies but the pans and pots were not clean. Also lots of things weren’t provided like a cutting board and proper knives. Also at the price point I would have expected salt/pepper to be included. Some of the staff member were less helpful than others. During check in I felt the helpfulness and friendliness were really lacking. Simple questions like where we could get groceries and such were answered with a sigh and a general wave of the hand in the supermarket’s direction. Not really helpful. Other staff member were friendly and kind though! All in all we felt that the price point did not match the experience we had. The general vibe of the apartment, the squeaky beds and kitchen lay out certainly did not translate to a €300 + price per night.
