Coco Reef Resort & Spa

Fantastic 10 days at Coco Reef. The staff were amazing so to identify a few would do a disservice to the all the others from reception, hospitality, housekeeping, gardeners etc. all of whom go out of their way to make sure we had a fabulous experience. We went All Inclusive, and I would recommend this to anyone contemplating staying at Coco Reef. The food (and drinks) were excellent, plentiful and worth paying the AI supplement. The recently appointment General Manager, Paul PV, is working hard to ensure everyone has a great experience. Minor refurbishments are underway to further enhance the experience, but does not interfere with the guests enjoyment. This resort deserves its 'Caribbean' 4 star rating and is truly a genuine authentic Caribbean resort.

Hi we went to Tobago on 6th March with 2 other couples. Having read mixed reviews before leaving we went with an open mind. We were pleasantly surprised by the hotel . Small but perfect and all rooms have a sea view. The hotel is right on the beach which was very handy . Sea was unusually rough while we were there so only got to swim in the ocean a couple of times., however not far from our beach sunbed to the pool to cool off . Pool kept very clean by the great pool guy who works very hard all day . Not very deep but fine to cool off in . I believe it had been retiled since then. Rooms spotlessly clean, quite roomy. Lovely crisp white bed linen and extremely comfortable mattresses. Slept really well. Bathroom quite roomy, very clean and functional but a little dated . Staff are all very welcoming and friendly especially the team at D Grill restaurant for lunch. Buffet was small but open sided to the beach which was lovely at breakfast. Staff friendly , food was not for me as have stomach problems and have to eat very bland . Would have liked to see some plain chicken fillets or plain fish that could have been cooked on the grill. Also would have liked to see regular hard boiled eggs and perhaps tinned tuna on the salad counter for people like me who have problems. However when I asked the chef about hard boiled eggs he made sure they were some in the evenings while I was there . The others I was with enjoyed the food , only little annoyance was the meats are not filleted so quite a few bones in most meat dishes , but very tasty. Soups very good . Loved breakfast , always tasty . The other restaurant was not open while we were there so can not comment on that . Drinks from the bar were always good , we usually sat outside by the pool bar in the evenings . Lovely spot to see entertainment and listen to the waves . Entertainment was fairly good , Steel drum guys a couple of times were great . Gilbert O'Connor a singer is brilliant, sings Calypso but adds his own words . Another fantastic singer is Derek Sandy , a must see although he is only there from October to end of March. There was Karaoke a couple of times but the crowd were not really into that so the guy played whatever music the guests wanted so all good. Only one singer we really did not like , was a lady . She pitched songs way above her voice and did not appear to know all the words , we did let the staff know and thank goodness she was not on the following week . We missed seeing 3 turtles on our last night ( a Sunday ) . No volunteer for Turtle watch that night sadly so never saw any but did see the mounds the next morning right outside our room . The only negative was the sun loungers on the beach , a lot were broken and very uncomfortable , the need replacing as only enough decent ones for about 6 couples. Also they do need to get more umbrellas for shade for the sunlounges around the pool . There were only 2 when we were there and most of the guests from UK really

It was great for a family vacation, my 7 month baby had no issues adjusting to meal times..high chair was provided. This hotel has plenty little areas where you can relax and yet have your privacy like a beach front with cabanas, a jacuzzi separate from the pool. It is indeed a get away from the everyday routine
