My recent stay at THE GATE HOTEL ASAKUSA was a blend of adventurous exploration and varied service. Arriving at THE GATE HOTEL ASAKUSA from the subway proved to be quite a challenge, as the distance and limited transportation options made it difficult to access, especially with luggage in tow. However, once I finally reached the hotel, the awe-inspiring rooftop view and surroundings compensated for the arduous journey. The staff at THE GATE HOTEL ASAKUSA were a mixed bag. Some were courteous and friendly, making me feel welcomed, while others seemed disinterested and impolite, dampening the overall experience. The front desk personnel were efficient, but their warmness varied from one individual to another.

It is not recommended for people who make big purchases to choose this station. The hotel is comfortable and simple. Breakfast consists of two types of bread, four dishes and a potato salad. Others are beverages and soups from automatic machines. There is a free drink time before 9:00 pm. There is a mini refrigerator in the room, but unfortunately there is only one chair, and there is no room for double occupancy. The bathroom is small but has a bathtub, and the room is a password check-in.

I stayed in a room with a train simulator, which was happy for rail fans. The ”train simulator real thing” used for the crew training of TOBU railway is installed in the room. The guests can use it freely from 3 p.m. to 10 a.m. the next day. The real feeling that can manipulate the real thing was amazing and I operated it at night and spared my sleep. This room has only one room, one night, one person with breakfast, and 20000 yen. On the way back, you can get a T-shirt printed on the face of the TOBU train as a souvenir.

I used the room ”Sakura” on the top floor with my friends. There was only one ”Sakura” room on the top floor, so it was very spacious, clean and comfortable. The room was equipped with both a mattress and a bed, and the latest TV was available, such as Youtube, Netflix, and Amazon Prime. There is a veranda in the room, and you can go around half a lap, and you can see Nakamise, Tokyo Sky Tree, Kaminarimon and Asakusa, and by extension, famous places in Japan. It was said that the Sumida River Fireworks Festival can be seen well in the summer. I have been to Asakusa several times before, but this time I stayed at this hotel and was able to rediscover a new ”Asakusa”. This hotel had truly been wonderful to stay in while we had been in Tokyo. The Asakusa area that it is located in, is a fun spot to explore with lots of shops and places to eat. It is close to either the Ginza or the Asakusa subway stations. We stayed here for over a week during our trip to Tokyo, and the room had been quite large compared to other places we had stayed in Japan. Plenty of closet space to store things. Having the washer/dryer in the room was extremely useful, especially since it had been the height of the August heat. The staff, especially the front desk, are extremely friendly and helpful. When our planned hike to the summit of Mt. Fuji went awry due to a typhoon, the woman at the desk called the hut we had booked to stay at on Mt. Fuji and explained the situation. We would never have been able to explain everything without her help. I highly recommend this hotel.

This time I stayed at the Lotte Residences Asakusa in Tokyo. I loved it because of the panda room (hahaha). What shocked me was that when I got up on the first morning, I found that there was a temple in my room (right next to it?) , there are actually (one after another tombstones) inside. Although I said ”I'm not afraid! It's a lie”, it was still a quite interesting experience! Because in Taiwan, there is no such custom of ”getting along day and night” with the tombstones~

Panda themed hotel in a very convenient location in Ueno. It is just a few minutes away by foot to the subway lines, and it is a great place as your final hotel in Japan since the Keisei Ueno station (Skyliner to Narita) is nearby as well. Check-in was easy using a self-service kiosk with the guidance of staff. We were also given a panda themed tote bag which contained stickers and two file folders. In the hallway leading to the hotel rooms there were also edits of famous art pieces with pandas, and in the room, panda sheets, cushions and a huge plush. The hotel was refurbished just a few months back so everything was spotless. Would stay here again.
