For various reasons we had to extend our stay by another night and were pleased to do so. It allowed us to experience K’shiki restaurant as well as Tapas Molecular Bar which we were already booked into. Osamu Okazaki ensured that our check in went extremely smoothly and offered services which made us feel very welcomed. He really did relieve the stress that had been caused by the day’s events. The room was magnificent and allowed us to totally unwind. The hotel is close enough to places of interest to fill your time if needs be. The restaurants were exceptional. K’shiki with it’s vague nod towards italian cuisine was exceptional. We chose Chef’s Dinner Menu and each course was interesting and surprising. Service was exceptional. Tapas Molecular Bar is one of those restaurants which is really special in the world. It’s hard to write a review without ruining the surprises. Suffice to say with only seating for eight you really do need to consider your reservation well in advance. Chef Kento Ushikubo is as talented as it gets. His food is intense in taste, creative and in many cases just baffling. He could almost be a member of the Magic Circle with the illusions he creates. One of the most thoughtful and considerate people I have met, and meet him you do because he is with you preparing everything throughout the meal, you just wanted to applaud with a standing ovation at the end. He made it particularly special for our wedding anniversaries and I can’t say how because it would spoil another illusion. I was just staggered that with all our experience of eating throughout the world we were introduced to new experiences. Spoiler alert; I cannot believe his ‘powdered ice cream’ has not been ‘borrowed’ by other chefs. Sadly, unless we manage to return, some of those experiences will be a once in a lifetime event. Thank you for a memorable evening

Aman Tokyo

Tokyo Station/Nihonbashi Tokyo|0.7km from Carrera y Carrera
Aman Tokyo sets a new standard for exceptional hard products. Despite a mishap on our first night when we returned from dinner to find our room uncleaned, the front desk manager promptly apologized and offered complimentary drinks. The head of housekeeping also personally apologized at breakfast and showered us with thoughtful gestures like a fruit platter and free laundry. Subsequently, our stay was faultless. Aman Tokyo also boasts stunning design and architecture and a strategic location near Otemachi station, Tokyo station, the Imperial Palace, and Ginza. Its awe-inspiring atrium leaves a lasting impression. The generously sized rooms, starting at 70 square meters, feature high ceilings throughout, with unforgettable views of the imperial gardens from the bed. Even the retractable TV showcases its thoughtful design, providing guests with an unobstructed view of the Tokyo skyline. The hotel's farewell was equally remarkable. Providing a complimentary hotel car transfer to Tokyo station, while being escorted by another staff member who went the extra mile to purchase our tickets, carry our luggage to the platform, store our luggage on the train and brought us to our seats. Undoubtedly, this luxury at Aman Tokyo comes at a price. However, delivers the sought-after wow factor for which its rates command. After all, Tokyo is one of the most expensive cities in the world. From the grand lobby to the inviting pool and spacious rooms, the hotel impresses on many levels. Managing expectations is, however, key. It would be unrealistic to expect the usual Aman-type of service commonly associated with their other properties whose room counts are a lot smaller. While the initial mishap was regrettable, the subsequent personalized attention and meticulous service surpassed expectations for a city hotel with 80 rooms. Whether this was due to the initial mishap or reflective of their usual standards remains unknown, warranting another stay on my next visit to Tokyo.

Hotel Ryumeikan Tokyo

Tokyo Station/Nihonbashi Tokyo|0.34km from Carrera y Carrera
Booked 3 stays in my current Japan trip and this was one of the best stay I had! Location: Hotel Ryumeikan Tokyo, 1 Chome-3-22 Yaesu, Chuo City, Tokyo 103-0028 A 3-star hotel but a service like 5-star! Location: Conveniently located between several train station - Tokyo station, Nihombashi station and Mitsukoshimae Station - as well as the JR express bus station to places like Osaka and Mt. Fuji. Considering the multiple lines available, the exit out of the station can be confusing at first, but you'll just have to follow the sign. Here's some cheatsheet: 1. Exit A3 for Nihombashi station (use A4 if you have large suitcases) 2. North Yaesu (Nihombashi) exit for Toko station (it should be on right) 3. Exit B3 for Mitsukoshimae station (walk straight down 2 street - the easiest to find) There is so many shops nearby, you can even walk to Ginza in 10mins! Price and amenities The room was equipped with many goodies - from basic necessities like toiletries, bidet and drinking water; to extra items like facial products, pyjamas, bath salt, snacks, slippers and comb. The bed was very soft and comfy and I definitely had one of the best sleep in this Japan trip! The room was decent sized for solo travellers, there were plenty of sunlight and privacy. Check in and check out was easy and fast and they staffs were very friendly and helpful. Overall a great stay! Definitely give this place a try if you're visiting Tokyo for the first time!

Karaksa Hotel Tokyo Station

Tokyo Station/Nihonbashi Tokyo|0.44km from Carrera y Carrera
Having recently spent two nights at the Karaksa Hotel Tokyo Station, I'm happy to share my experience. Overall, it was a positive stay, particularly due to its prime location and comfortable accommodations. Location: As the name suggests, the hotel's biggest draw is its proximity to Tokyo Station. Just a few minutes' walk away, it provided easy access to various JR lines, subways, and the Shinkansen. This made exploring the city incredibly convenient, whether I was heading to popular sights like Shibuya Crossing or venturing further afield to Kamakura. Accommodations: My room was clean and well-maintained, with enough space for luggage and comfortable bedding. I particularly appreciated the thoughtful amenities, such as complimentary pajamas, toiletries, and an in-room coffee machine. Though compact, the room utilized space efficiently, offering everything I needed for a comfortable stay. Other Highlights: Friendly staff: The hotel staff were consistently helpful and accommodating, addressing my needs promptly and with a smile. Delicious breakfast: The breakfast buffet offered a variety of Japanese and Western options, ensuring a satisfying start to the day. Modern amenities: The hotel provided free Wi-Fi, laundry facilities, and a luggage storage service, which were all convenient additions. Overall: If you're looking for a conveniently located, comfortable, and modern hotel in central Tokyo, the Karaksa Hotel Tokyo Station is a solid choice. Its prime location and friendly service make it a good option for both leisure and business travelers. While the rooms might be small for some, the comfortable amenities and delicious breakfast buffet more than compensate. Recommendation: I would recommend this hotel to travelers who prioritize location, comfort, and convenience. Particularly for first-time visitors to Tokyo, its proximity to Tokyo Station makes it a great base for exploring the city. Rating: 4 out of 5 stars

Hotel Kazusaya

Tokyo Station/Nihonbashi Tokyo|0.49km from Carrera y Carrera
We got to the hotel a bit early, so concierge/clerk Ms Morita checked our luggage into the secure storage rrom while we explored the area a bit. We'd been in Tokyo at another hotel a week prior, and it was our 3rd trip to Japan, so not newbies. There is a station on the Sobu Line imediately around the corner, and the JR Kanda station on the Yamanote line is only a 10 minute walk away. Tokyo station is a brisk 20 minute walk (take the Sobu line). The hotel is well maintained, extremely clean and fresh, and both elevators come quickly. There are tall buildings all around, so the view lower down isn't great, but you wanted to wave to a neighbour across the street in the office tower you could do so easily. There is an artifical onsen on the 2nd floor, which is a MUST for the weary traveler. Same rules apply, shower/bathe first, men and women are separate, no tattoos, and take your room towels down with you or ask for extras at the front. Nearly everyone going to the onsen wore the hotel pajamas and slippers. There's a locker with key for all patrons, no extra fee. Upon checkout we had to store our luggage again as our flight wasn't leaving until evening, and again Morita-san stored our luggage. She also helped me send our pocket-wifi units back to the rental agency as we'd lost the return envelopes. They can ship by Yamato or JPS from the front desk. Morita-san's English is superb, she joked with us and made us feel very welcome. Easily the gem of the trip and we'll be returning here when we come back to Japan.

Stayed one night for work. I checked in around 12:00 in the middle of the night, but the reception was very good and I was able to stay comfortably. Amenities were brought to the room from the shelf next to the front desk. The newspaper of the day was also provided free of charge. Also, the scent of the foam soap used in the room was very good, and after washing my hands with it, the scent from my hands was soothing. It may be because it was a plan to check in after 17:00, but the price was cheap and I thought it was a very good hotel.

Very close to Ningyocho Station, about 5 minutes. However, if you have heavy luggage, you must take the elevator out of the station from Exit A6. The hotel is on the opposite side of the exit. Although Exit A5 is on the same side as the hotel and does not require crossing the road, it does require walking up several flights of stairs, which is particularly inconvenient with luggage. The front desk of the hotel is on the negative floor. The room is small but well-equipped. The staff is very friendly. Disposable supplies can be collected for free next to the front desk, the wifi signal is very stable, and there are many TV programs. The internal sound insulation is a bit weak, and the sound of opening and closing doors in other rooms will affect your sleep.

Very convenient location between a variety of subway stops, none further than a 10 minute walk—though most don’t have elevators or escalators, so keep that in mind if planning to bring a lot of luggage. Hotel room was quite small, but clean. Fresh towels and emptying trash everyday, but that’s all. One full room cleaning over the course of 10 days. Staff has limited English abilities, but a willingness to use translation apps to communicate. No room service, but breakfast was available given enough prior notice. The bed was not great, an odd in between of too soft but also too hard. Overall I enjoyed my stay, but I probably won’t stay again because of the bed.
