Lumi Hotel Tokyo Shinkoiwa

There are many shopping malls and restaurants nearby, making shopping and daily life very convenient. It's also a 5-minute walk from the subway station! Although the hotel room is small, it's very clean and has no strange smells! The self-service check-in at the front desk was very convenient.

This hotel offers self check-in. They'll send you an email beforehand with instructions on how to register using Japan's HotelSmart system. It's best to do this before you arrive as you'll need to upload a photo of your passport and other details; doing it on-site can be a bit of a hassle since there's no front desk staff. The hotel will also email you an access code, which you enter at the property to get your room key – super convenient! The biggest plus is the incredibly spacious bathroom, complete with shower facilities that mimic a hot spring bath. The only downside is that the hotel entrance is located down a narrow alley, and there were quite a few people loitering on the street outside. This might be something for solo female travelers or families to consider before booking.

For this price, this accommodation is truly perfect. Compared to other more expensive options, the space is significantly larger.

The room was spacious with twin beds, and all the facilities were as advertised. Towels were changed daily, and the room was clean. The hotel is also conveniently located near JR Shin Koiwa Station and various dining options.

I'm not sure why, but the outlets in the room always lose power around 10 AM, even the air conditioning stops working. However, when I return in the evening, everything is normal again. This happened for two consecutive days. I wonder if there's a timer set for the power.

Just a two to three-minute walk from the station's north exit, heading right. The area is fantastic, with a large supermarket, various restaurants, and a long shopping street. The hotel room has a separate toilet and a spacious bathtub. You can fill the tub, wash yourself beforehand, and then enjoy a relaxing soak while even watching TV. It's a great way to experience Japanese bathing culture. Plus, getting to different parts of Tokyo by train is super convenient and quick.

I booked this place because my son is renting an apartment in Shin-Koiwa. It's super convenient for transport, and there are tons of supermarkets and restaurants nearby, making it a really lively area. The room itself was nice too. Even though it's self-service, the service was still good, with staff always on-site.
