Tabist Hotel Mercury Asakusabashi

Absolutely terrible. First off, the room looked nothing like the pictures. Secondly, the service was awful; no changes or cancellations were allowed. I really hope everyone avoids booking this hotel in the future. The wallpaper was torn, the air conditioning was broken, and even though I booked a room with a desk, the one I got didn't have one. However, Trip.com's service was excellent. They covered three nights of accommodation for me and helped me switch to a different hotel. Seriously, I can't stress enough: DO NOT book this hotel.

The front desk staff were incredibly polite and helpful, which I really appreciated. The building itself seems a bit old, as there were very few electrical outlets, and the hairdryer was fixed in the bathroom, which was a minor inconvenience. However, the room itself was very clean and well-maintained.

The location is very convenient.

Without an explanation, I couldn't figure out where the electrical outlets were! It was a shame the toilet didn't have a bidet function.

I wouldn't want to stay in this hotel again. The only huge plus is that it's right next to Asakusabashi Station; I couldn't find any other positives. The elevator smells terrible, the room itself is very dark. There are three lamps, but they don't provide much light, and my room's window overlooks the wall of the neighboring building. The cleanliness is a C, not very pleasant. The furniture is tired. The wallpaper is stained. The hair dryer in the bathroom is just for show; it's only good for burning your hair. So, just for one night's sleep – yes. More than one night – never again.

The room was dimly lit due to lack of lighting. Both the building and the room feel old overall.

The only advantage is the good location, but the lighting is poor, and the refrigerator in the room is very dirty. I emailed the official website and the hotel before checking in, but to no avail! I will not consider staying here again.

It's a good value for money option for an overnight stay. Great location. That's about it for the pros. Breakfast is the same every day, but you can still get a full meal.
