Dormy Inn Ikebukuro Natural Hot Spring

I really didn't want to stay at this Dormy Inn for more than one night. It's at least a 10-minute walk from the station, which is quite far. And their 'special breakfast' was Chinese food, my goodness... I don't even want to comment. I tried one fried dumpling, and it was a real struggle to swallow. The next day, I definitely avoided the Chinese dishes. Thankfully, the other Japanese breakfast options were plentiful and delicious. The large public bath on the top floor was very comfortable though.

Booked a twin room, and after a slight re-arrangement, there was still plenty of space to walk around even with two 30-inch suitcases open. As always, the hot springs, ice pops, ramen, breakfast, manga room, and washing machines were all available. However, this particular location was very crowded. Definitely avoid the hot springs between 10:30 PM and 11:30 PM – there weren't even any lockers available, as it was full of people returning from shopping. It's about a 10-minute walk to the subway. The area outside the subway is simple, but the internal subway passages are quite complicated. Take Exit 35. For anime fans, this place offers more and newer selections than Akihabara. Both the bus and subway routes were a bit complex, so we opted for a Klook airport transfer. For three people, it wasn't much more expensive, and it saved us from the crowded subway. A rare find: the smoking room actually had a window!

Free coffee machine downstairs. Natural hot spring "Hojo-no-Yu" [Free for hotel guests]: They have medicinal baths, and the bath amenities are excellent. After a relaxing soak, you can enjoy a cold drink, and in the morning, there's complimentary Yakult. Yonaki Soba: You can have two servings, and it tastes pretty good!

The room was small but quite clean. They offered free late-night snacks and popsicles, and the fridge was stocked with complimentary snacks, all of which were delicious. There was no shower, which was clearly stated, but the hot springs made up for it, so it wasn't a big deal. It's only a 5-minute walk from Ckw Park. Overall, it was a great stay, and I'd choose this place again next time.

1. This hotel is close to the airport bus stop, which was very convenient for my travel plans. 2. The rooftop hot spring was lovely and very comfortable, especially with the cold weather. 3. The bedsheets in my room were a bit dirty, I suspect they weren't changed. The bedding hygiene was generally poor. 4. The self-service check-in and check-out was very convenient. 5. It's a bit of a walk from the subway station, so it might not be ideal for those who prefer not to walk much. 6. They offer complimentary ramen noodles for supper starting at 9:30 PM, and they tasted pretty good.

The service staff were cold and unfriendly, and there were hairs on the towels. I stayed for two nights, and the room cleaning was very perfunctory! The lid of the trash can wasn't even properly placed. I don't know what the rush was! The hot spring was okay, but remember to bring your own towel. Also, you can't go between 10 AM and 3 PM. There are hundreds of restaurants nearby.

The hotel is about a 10-minute walk from Ikebukuro Station Exit 35. From Haneda Airport, you can take a bus directly to the Sunshine City bus stop. The hotel staff, including the front desk and restaurant, were all excellent. The breakfast was plentiful and delicious. On the 15th floor, there's a hot spring bath, with Yakult available in the mornings and ice cream in the evenings. The ice cream was really good – on our first day, we foolishly bought ice cream at the supermarket, but after that, we just waited for the complimentary evening ice cream! Oh, and there's free ramen available after 9:30 PM. Everything was great, apart from the small room size.
