Reviews of Hotel Monterey Akasaka

The hotel is a bit old overall, but it's still clean. It's a bit far from the subway station, and the nearest exit doesn't have an elevator, which is inconvenient if you have large luggage. The service is excellent, with Chinese-speaking staff and luggage storage available. There's also free bottled tea at the front desk.

Facilities: The room had all the essentials – an electric kettle, hairdryer, safe, fridge… even a coffee machine, though I didn't use it. The shower pressure in the bathroom was excellent, and the air conditioning was strong and effective. Cleanliness: Very clean, including the bedding. Service: I personally feel that more Chinese-language signage would make the hotel more welcoming for Chinese guests. During my stay, I only encountered one female front desk staff member who spoke Chinese. She helped me out of an awkward situation when I left my key card in the room. Please extend my thanks to her again! Location: The hotel's location is fantastic. It's close to the subway, making travel very convenient. There are also plenty of convenience stores and restaurants nearby, offering a wide variety of choices. Other: Besides the complimentary bottled water in the room, the lobby also offered free bottled water, beverages, facial masks, and foot patches in the afternoon… It felt very thoughtful and welcoming. It would be even better if the bath towels and hand towels were of higher quality. I'll be visiting Tokyo many times in the future, and I'll likely choose this hotel again.

The hotel is a 10-minute walk from the subway station and directly across from a large park, not far from Shinjuku Gyoen National Garden. The Ginza Line and Marunouchi Line subway stations are nearby. On the first floor, they offer toiletries, eye masks, facial masks, and a variety of beverages. While the hotel might not be new, it is very clean.

Booked a triple room. The room size was decent, but the extra bed felt a bit cumbersome, and the headboard was free-standing, so it couldn't be pushed against the wall. The cleanliness and service were good; we could request daily cleaning, and water refills were prompt. It's not far from Omotesando, Ginza, Minami-Aoyama, and Daikanyama. If you have the energy, you could even go for a run at the Imperial Palace in the morning. The subway is about 600 meters away, but it's uphill, which can be a bit challenging if you're dragging large suitcases.

There is something unique about this Hotel Monterey in Akasaka that made our stay so enjoyable. Location yes but the little details of the hotel made for a most enjoyable stay; the free cold beverages in the lobby; the hotel front desk staff accommodating our request for a larger room; the in room kettle; coffee machine; ceramic coffee cups/teapot; the unique showerhead; the linens; the bedcover and most definitely the mattress. The one awkward item would be the difficulty in navigating through the Japanese language media selections.Thank you.

The hotel is uphill from the subway station, which isn't ideal on a rainy day. However, Montresor's service is top-notch. They offer complimentary green tea and apple juice, and even provide foot masks and facial masks. For a chain hotel, their generosity is exceptional. The breakfast selection isn't huge, but it's enough to fill you up.

The soundproofing in the room was excellent, and the beds were very comfortable – even the extra bed was great for a good night's sleep. The Akasaka area itself is quiet, but if you want more hustle and bustle, Akasaka-mitsuke is just a short walk away with plenty of dining options. Akasaka is always my top choice for accommodation when I visit Tokyo. The lobby having a luggage scale was a nice touch and very convenient, putting my mind at ease.

Excellent! Comfortable and quiet with warm, friendly service. Room service was also great. We had two rooms for 8 consecutive nights, and they were arranged perfectly, exactly as requested.

The room size was just right for one person; I could easily open my 24-inch suitcase. The location was relatively quiet, seemingly in an office area, so it wasn't too noisy at night. There were two convenience stores nearby, and it wasn't far from the tram stop. Overall, I was quite satisfied with my stay.

Booked a queen room but got a twin room instead. One of the beds was facing a mirror, which felt a bit eerie.

Facility was great, although there's a bit of a hike to get to the hotel and there wasn't an onsen. There also wasn't any laundry machine onsite and no laundromats nearby so I wouldn't suggest this for the last bit of your trip.

Though small, it's very clean, and the room quality is better than other places at the same price point nearby.

This is my second time staying here, and the staff are just as warm and welcoming as before. They're happy to help with luggage storage, and the welcome drink is always a lovely touch! The room itself isn't huge, but it's spotless and tidy, and there's enough space to open up a suitcase. The location is super convenient for transport; it's a short walk to the metro station, not too far at all.

The hotel was lovely and the service was great. It was located near the train station and easy access to food and shopping centers. Will recommend to anyone on a family yrip
