Shinjuku Washington Hotel - Photo Gallery

We booked this hotel for 3 nights — two nights before and one night after our Mt. Fuji climb. The front desk staff were very helpful and patient during check-in. Checkout was easy — just drop the pass into the box. The complimentary coffee was great. The self-service laundry on Level 1 was very convenient, and there were many restaurants in the basement and convenient stores nearby.

Pros: Great location, though not the absolute best – it's about a 10-minute walk to Shinjuku Station. However, the hotel has direct access to an underground passage that leads all the way to Shinjuku Station, which is very convenient. The soundproofing in the rooms is good, and there's an ice machine in the hallway. There's also a convenience store on the ground floor, and the lobby offers free luggage storage. The biggest plus is that the Narita Airport Limousine Bus goes directly to the hotel. Cons: The facilities are a bit old, the rooms are tiny, and it's overpriced.

Funnily enough, I even experienced an earthquake in the middle of the night, which kept me up for half an hour!

The hotel's location is excellent, not far from the subway station and Shinjuku train station, both within a 10-minute walk. It's also very close to the shopping street, with plenty of restaurants to choose from. Around 2 AM on August 23rd, there was an earthquake, but the hotel broadcast announced that the hotel is earthquake-resistant and safe, so guests could rest assured and sleep soundly. Hahahaha...

The cleaning was subpar, and the management was just okay. A dirty towel was left on my luggage, and it definitely wasn't one from my room. The staff member at checkout seemed expressionless. Overall, the experience was mediocre and didn't quite match the price. Perhaps it's because the hotel is large and has too many guests, so the management still needs improvement. I chose this place for its convenient transportation; there's an airport shuttle right outside. However, once you're familiar with the area, there's no need to take the shuttle as it's expensive and takes too long – the subway is very convenient. The breakfast was rich and the location was good, but it was very crowded.

The Washington Hotel boasts an excellent location, a straight walk from Shinjuku Station's South Exit. Check-in is conveniently located on the third floor, with an information desk also available on the ground floor. The check-in process is a hybrid of staff assistance and self-service machines, complete with a Chinese interface. Guests can choose between daily room cleaning or no cleaning, and after receiving your room card, various amenities can be picked up at an adjacent counter. A noteworthy feature is the ice maker on every floor – an absolute must-have for summer visits to Tokyo. Just bring an insulated cup, fill it with ice 🧊, buy a drink on the go, and pour it in for an instant refreshing chill. The surrounding area is teeming with restaurants, snack bars, and convenience stores. You can also wander down the side streets to experience the unique charm of Kabukicho. Don't miss the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building observation deck for panoramic city views, accessible day and night on the 45th floor. After 7 PM, the entire building puts on a spectacular 'Tokyo Night/Light' show with musical accompaniment – a real highlight. The most interesting part is that due to the building's height, lying on the artificial lawn offers the best viewing experience. Best of all, it's completely free!

The hotel is huge, offering great value for money. It's in an excellent location, very close to the government building. The neighborhood is clean and tidy, and it's quite convenient to get to both the metro and train stations. Shopping and dining options are plentiful, with a convenience store and restaurant right in the building. For airport access, you have options like the metro, train, and bus. The breakfast used to be on the top floor with an amazing view, but this time it was moved to the first floor.

The hotel's location is excellent, right next to the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building and very close to the subway station. The breakfast was fantastic, not just because the food was delicious, but also because of the great views from the 25th floor. The main issues were that the room was extremely small and the service was quite average (honestly, not as good as typical chain hotels back home).

Fantastic location! It's super convenient to get to anywhere in Shinjuku, and the airport limousine bus drops you off right at the hotel's doorstep. There's a convenience store on the first floor, so no need to worry about late arrivals. Both check-in and check-out were fully self-service, no staff needed, and the system had a Chinese interface, so no worries there. I chose a smoking room, and while the window was small, the view directly overlooked the Metropolitan Government Building, which was excellent. I went to Lake Suwa in the middle of my trip for the fireworks festival – what a wonderful experience! Thank you. Next time I come to Tokyo, I think I'll still choose this place. The value for money is just too good!
