First of all, I was surprised at the atmosphere that was completely different from the image from the appearance of the building which was baptized without cleanliness in the whole hotel. Especially, the very filthy system of putting the message from the front desk on the floor under the room door was difficult to withstand. I went to look forward to having a drink at the front desk, but I stopped seeing the number of message cards placed on the floor on the way to get 々 and I felt bad. Even if a drink was prepared with the hand that exchanged the filthy card. The room felt narrower than the plain rice of the display, and it was actually quite different from the stylish interior like the photograph. The room was not clean, the furniture, the wall, the bathroom, all of which were clean, especially the cloth under the bed was long and very filthy. The table is small and there is no space to put things properly. When you open the door with the refrigerator, the door of the safe comes to you, so you have to open the refrigerator while pressing it. The hand washing of the washbasin is also important to look? It was very hard to use to fly up there. Only the bathtub was large and beautiful. The business hotel of 10000 yen per night was the top.

Hoshinoya is a very distinctive hotel. From the moment you enter the lobby, you have to take off your shoes. The lobby, corridors, elevators, and rooms are all decorated in tatami style, which is very clean. There is a very good hot spring on the top floor. After enjoying the hot spring, you will be served a glass of delicious ice milk. It is worth staying. Because the distance between the buildings is small, it is dark in the room, and there is no problem staying at night. But it will be a bit uncomfortable to stay in the hotel all day. The set meals ordered into the room are exquisite, but monotonous. So you can't always order in the room. This is the second time I have stayed in the same hotel, and the feeling is a little different. The first time was a bit shocking and very special. The second time, the experience is still very good, and the service quality must be five stars. Some waiters at the front desk are not good at English. Finally, a special point, in the afternoon, there was a traditional performance in the lobby, which echoed the traditional Japanese style inside the building, and it was very stylish.

A very good Japanese-style B&B ~ The room is large and very clean. The toilet, bathroom, and hand washing area are separated and can be used by several people at the same time. There is also a washing machine outside, and there are also laundries and convenience stores nearby. The only drawback is the location. It is relatively remote, so you have to take a bus from Kita Ikebukuro to Ikebukuro Station.

This is an amazing hotel for solo travellers. I booked a single, non-smoking room and whilst it was small, it was more than enough. The bed was a small double bed, and the bathroom was big enough. The staff were wonderful and very friendly. The location of this hotel was spectacular, with it being a 5 minute walk to Shibuya station and a 10 minute walk to Shibuya Scramble Crossing. I will stay again ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

The room area is 36 square meters, but the narrow corridor is not used at all. The actual usable area is only more than 20 square meters. The price we booked is 3700, which is too expensive! The main reason is that the children want to experience it. It is fast and the level is good. The service is not bad, but the cost performance is very low. If the price is around 2000 in Japan, it is okay. The front desk does not have lunch service

The historic and artistic Tokyo Station Hotel is one of my favorite hotels and has a great location with direct access from the airport and other cities. The staff is friendly and outstanding. I encountered some problems with my booking and the reception staff was very helpful and solved it quickly and efficiently, I was completely impressed by their professionalism and customer service. Breakfast was superb and the restaurant staff greet the guests with a smile and always be courteous. I stayed for 12 days and feel like home.

Although the room is relatively small, the hotel lobby is cool in design, and the elevator is completely in the style of a nightclub. However, the hotel's service is worth recommending. The room cleaning even refuses to accept tips, which is very cute ☺️ We went to have breakfast. The Indian and Filipino guys spoke fluent English and had a very good service attitude. Most importantly, the food was delicious. This is highly recommended. The overall feeling is pretty good.

Very convenient with airport limousine bus, free Disney shuttle (good neighbour hotel) and minutes’ walk from Kinshicho train station and Nippon rent-a-car. Lots of food options available at most times, and not too crowded. Great view of Tokyo Skytree from our room window. Suitable for people who want to travel around but wary of crowds, but not for those who want to live in the heart of action and/or chaos.

GGuest UserI am a book lover myself, and came to stay here for 2 nights in March a week before Easter, mainly for the library theme and book selection. The hotel itself, the book lounge, and the book libraries on each floor was all very very good. However, upon my checking in, it was obvious that the male receptionist on the left pay more attention to Caucasian guests rather than me (an Asian solo female traveller). I had the impression they just wanted to get rid of me asap, and then served the Caucasian guests behind me. During the whole of my check in process, no one mentioned anything about the special libraries on each floor, no one told me about the free beverages offered “at the far end corner for the reception desk”, and definitely no one mentioned anything about he QRcode library tour!!! I stayed for two nights and it was only after the first night (when I read the books inside my room that I knew of ANY of the services I mentioned above). Of course one may say I could read all those on the signage’s provided in the property. But then… Upon walking into the reception desk the next day, I did hear the same male receptionist explained in great detail (everything I mentioned above)in English to other Caucasian guests. I like the library premise of the property, the books selections were great, exhibition on the first floor was quite nice, however, I am not sure if I would stay for a second time, knowing how they treated solo female Asian guest whom they assumed was not civilised enough (that was my impression) to deserve a thorough introduction about this lovely bookish hotel from them. Quite disappointed to be frank, especially knowing how much history this hotel has included!!

SSALLESWe had a nice stay at Washington Hotel Akihabara. The hotel is well located, nearby metro lines and local trains which allow us to easily move around Tokyo. Although the room is small, it is well designed and it big enough for few nights. The bed is not very large but comfortable. We managed to sleep with our 2 yo kid. You can also choose between soft or hard pillow. The bathroom was quite big with a nice bathtub. Around the hotel, you have plenty of restaurant and convenient stores. The buffet breakfast was great and everything we try tastes really good ! There is a large choice between Japanese food and wester food. Finally, there is a laundry area which was really convenient.

GGnynotDormy Inn Ueno Tokyo – A Small but Well-Equipped Stay During my recent stay at Dormy Inn Ueno Tokyo, I found it to be a compact yet highly convenient hotel, especially for travelers who prioritize location and practical amenities over excessive space. It’s not a luxury hotel, but it does a great job of providing a comfortable stay with thoughtful touches. Location – Perfect for Travelers One of the best things about this hotel is its location. Just a short walk from Ueno Station, it offers easy access to the JR Yamanote Line, the Keisei Skyliner (for Narita Airport), and multiple metro lines, making it an excellent choice for those who plan to explore different parts of Tokyo. Additionally, the Ameya-Yokocho (Ameyoko) Market is just around the corner, where you’ll find everything from fresh seafood and street food to clothing and souvenirs. It’s a lively area that adds to the appeal of staying in Ueno. Room & Facilities – Compact but Functional As expected, the rooms are small, which is pretty standard in Tokyo, but they are well-designed with everything you need. The bed was comfortable, and the room included basic amenities like a TV, a small desk, and a fridge. Storage space is limited, but for a short stay, it was manageable. The bathroom was also compact, though the onsen (public bath) on-site makes up for it. Onsen – A Small but Relaxing Bath One of the highlights of staying at Dormy Inn hotels is their public bath (onsen), and this location has one, albeit on the smaller side. It’s not the biggest or most luxurious onsen, but it’s a nice way to unwind after a long day of walking around Tokyo. The water temperature was just right, and while the space was limited, it wasn’t overly crowded when I visited. Freebies & Unique Perks Dormy Inn is known for offering small but unique perks to its guests. This location provides free popsicles and yogurt drinks, which is a nice touch. However, they are only available during specific hours, so if you’re out sightseeing all day, you might miss out on them. They also supposedly offer free late-night soba, a Dormy Inn signature, but I never actually saw it happen and didn’t feel like asking about it. Maybe I just missed the time window. Free manga reading Housekeeping – No Room Cleaning, Just Fresh Towels One thing to note is that Dormy Inn follows a no-daily-cleaning policy. Instead of a full room service, they simply drop off fresh towels outside your door. This is fine if you’re staying just a few days, but if you prefer daily room cleaning, you might find it lacking. Staff & Service The staff at check-in were friendly and efficient, which I appreciated. They handled everything quickly and provided all the necessary information without any issues. While I didn’t interact with them much after check-in, the overall service felt professional and welcoming. Final Thoughts – A Solid Stay for Practical Travelers Overall, Dormy Inn Ueno Tokyo is a great choice if you’re looking for a convenient, budget-friendly, and functional stay in Tokyo. The location is excellent, the onsen is a nice touch, and the small perks like free drinks and late-night snacks add to the experience. Just keep in mind that the rooms are small, there’s no daily cleaning, and some of the free amenities have limited availability. If you’re okay with that, it’s a great place to stay in Ueno!

AadamwlleeGreat location, very close to the shopping districts of Ginza. Plenty of good restaurants nearby. Good access to the Tokyo Metro. Plus point is the Starbucks and Starbucks Reserve within walking distance. Also plus point: the hotel serve free coffee at the lobby. Room is on the smaller end (as with any hotel in Tokyo) but the nice lobby is a nice escape from the room. Clean and daily replenish of towels. This is top choice for me. I would gladly book again when I visit Tokyo.

GGuest UserSmall clean room as expected but having to get your own amenities and very little around the area makes it purely for accommodation purposes. Though there are 2 lines of trains that are very close by it’ll take about 25 minutes ride to get to major Tokyo hotspots like Shibuya.
