Hotels near Okachimachi Station, Tokyo

It took only a few walk from the station to the hotel. There is FamilyMart nearby. The room is cozy but clean. The staff were super helpful and friendly. Next to our hotel, there is a very nice beef restaurant.

It’s a decent hotel with reasonable room space for a single traveler. The location is perfect, close to various metro stations connecting to a lot of popular tourist spots. Breakfast was served in a cafe, and the quality of the food is very good. I prefer set breakfast than buffet when the food is delicious. The only thing disappointed me was that I found body hair on a shower towel - I believed that the towel was fresh and clean and the body hair was attached accidentally onto it, but still it was a bit uncomfortable to see that. Apart from that, the cleanliness and hygiene of the room was great in general. I will certainly stay at this hotel again when I travel to Tokyo.

Just a short walk from Ueno Station, it offers easy access to the JR Yamanote Line, the Keisei Skyliner (for Narita Airport), and multiple metro lines, making it an excellent choice for those who plan to explore different parts of Tokyo. Additionally, the Ameya-Yokocho (Ameyoko) Market is just around the corner, where you’ll find everything from fresh seafood and street food to clothing and souvenirs. It’s a lively area that adds to the appeal of staying in Ueno. Room & Facilities – Compact but Functional As expected, the rooms are small, which is pretty standard in Tokyo, but they are well-designed with everything you need. The bed was comfortable, and the room included basic amenities like a TV, a small desk, and a fridge. Storage space is limited, but for a short stay, it was manageable. The bathroom was also compact, though the onsen (public bath) on-site makes up for it. Onsen – A Small but Relaxing Bath One of the highlights of staying at Dormy Inn hotels is their public bath (onsen), and this location has one, albeit on the smaller side. It’s not the biggest or most luxurious onsen, but it’s a nice way to unwind after a long day of walking around Tokyo. The water temperature was just right, and while the space was limited, it wasn’t overly crowded when I visited. Freebies & Unique Perks Dormy Inn is known for offering small but unique perks to its guests. This location provides free popsicles and yogurt drinks, which is a nice touch. However, they are only available during specific hours, so if you’re out sightseeing all day, you might miss out on them. They also supposedly offer free late-night soba, a Dormy Inn signature, but I never actually saw it happen and didn’t feel like asking about it. Maybe I just missed the time window. Instead of a full room service, they simply drop off fresh towels outside your door. This is fine if you’re staying just a few days, but if you prefer daily room cleaning, you might find it lacking. Staff & Service The staff at check-in were friendly and efficient, which I appreciated. They handled everything quickly and provided all the necessary information without any issues. While I didn’t interact with them much after check-in, the overall service felt professional and welcoming. Final Thoughts – A Solid Stay for Practical Travelers Overall, Dormy Inn Ueno Tokyo is a great choice if you’re looking for a convenient, budget-friendly, and functional stay in Tokyo. The location is excellent, the onsen is a nice touch, and the small perks like free drinks and late-night snacks add to the experience. Just keep in mind that the rooms are small, there’s no daily cleaning, and some of the free amenities have limited availability. If you’re okay with that, it’s a great place to stay in Ueno!

Good location, just few minutes walk from Okachimachi JR or Ueno Hirokoji subway stations. Lots of food choice around. Very clean environment, nice and helpful checkin service. You can choose between towel exchange only or full makeup room which is good. The room is facing the wall of the adjacent building so there is barely any light going into the room, not to say any street view. There is only a stool without the back, so it is not comfy enough if you have some work to do using notebook computer.

The location is excellent, and the facilities are well-maintained. However, it was a bit inconvenient that the elevator only stops on the 1st and 3rd floors, making access to the 2nd floor confusing. Additionally, the morning noise from the staff preparing their duties was slightly disruptive. It would be great to address these issues for a more seamless stay.

Location of hotel is super convenient having access to multiple major metro lines within walking distance. Cleanliness is below average as when we check in on 1st day, we need to request for room to be cleaned again. Putting aside the room condition, there is many varietiies of food options available throughout the day from morning till late nite.. theres a cute standing noodle place juz 2nins away that serves affordable soba/udon tempura.

Great little hotel. Easy check in and staff good even though languages a bit of a challenge. Great location close to restos and train station and shops. Will stay again but in bigger room next time.

The location of the hotel is good, it's near the metro and JR, the Ameyoko market is also nearby so it's very convenient. The staff are friendly and the breakfast is delicious, however, if you intent to stay for many days the main course may get a little boring since the options are the same each day. One of the downsides of the hotel is that there are not a lot of light bulbs in the room, making the room dim.

The hotel provided lots of amenities including free coffee and they even provide pyjamas! Even though the room is small, the room was very clean and had everything include a full size table and a bath tub. The hotel provided fresh towels daily even if they don’t clean your room (can always request for cleaning if needed). Recommend to opt for a bigger room if you are requesting a room with 2 single bed. There is a lawson just nearby the hotel so it’s very convenient. Location is also a great plus point as most train stations are 8 to 10 mins walk away and the surrounding is quiet even though it’s near many restaurants and bar. Highly recommended!
