My wife and I just spent five nights here in the first week of February 2026. The favorable reviews here were spot on so I will not repeat them all. But they were what motivated me to book this lodge and I am so grateful for all the prior posters. We stayed in one of the canopy cabins (15) with a tremendous wraparound outdoor deck, allowing us to watch and photograph many birds. There are a lot of fairly steep stairs to get up to the canopy lodges, but if you don’t want the good exercise, there is a clever and quick mini funicular which takes you up and down without having to do the stair climbing. The staff were uniformly friendly and helpful, the birding guide Andres was fantastic, the grounds were gorgeous and well-maintained, and we hated to leave. The restaurant was largely excellent although the grilled pork chop I had for dinner one night had almost as much fat as meat, which was very disappointing. If we were ever to return to southern Belize, we would return to Copal Tree Lodge in a heartbeat.
