The Purple Tree Guest House

The installations were more like a big house rather than a hotel but the stuff was absolutely amazing. They really took care of the details. The breakfast was done at the moment we were sitting, homemade and delicious. Such a nice place really recommended.

We stayed in the Palm suite which was easily accessible and provided a great space for our family. Debbie and Ian were very welcoming and great hosts, they gave us ideas of places to visit and places to eat in the evenings. The breakfast they offer was excellent and catered to many. The suite was well maintained and offered us a place to cook and relax after a busy day. Thanks we will be coming again 🙂

Wow what a wonderful 2 days stay at the purple tree guest house! Debbie and Ian were fantastic, friendly hosts and couldn’t do enough for us, nothing was too much trouble! The room was lovely and spacious, very clean and comfortable beds. Breakfast was fab and there was variety for everyone. The highlight of our stay was the pool, my boys absolutely loved it and spent both days in there, it was fab for us to be able to chill next to the pool whilst the boys played. Would definitely recommend this bed and breakfast to anyone coming to stay in Torquay. Thank you so much for making our stay wonderful.

We had a great stay at Purple tree the hosts Ian & Debbie were fantastic and were available whenever we needed. The hotel is perfect location walking distance to main seafront, the rooms are clean and tidy and our we absolutely loved the pool and hot tub, the kids did not want to leave. Thank you for having us!

We have just enjoyed a wonderful two days at Debbie and Ian’s lovely guest house. A clean and spacious room with a big welcome for our Labrador too! The pool is such a plus and the tv and games room are an added bonus. We will definitely return and bring the whole family!

This is an excellent guesthouse!! Even though the weather wasn’t the best when we were in Torquay, this accommodation made the trip!! We thorough enjoyed relaxing by the pool and soaking up any sunshine that there was in their beautiful outdoor area. I would highly recommend the Purple Tree

From the minute I phoned this guesthouse with some special arrangements, I knew that the service and attention to detail would be exemplary. I spoke to Deb on the phone to advise of my recovery from a disastrous fall and to check the guest house could accommodate me. Deb took the time to FaceTime around the building so I could risk assess any obstacles to my stay and even ensured there was parking reserved for us for ease of access to the building. This was just the kind of TLC I was in need of on a short break with my children! When we arrived, the guesthouse was spotlessly clean and we received a very warm welcome from both Deb and Ian (despite us arriving an hour later than planned). Our family room was well appointed and had everything we needed to ensure a comfortable stay. Ian ensured we were fed and watered before we turned down for our first night’s stay. The following day, we had a full English home cooked breakfast along with some banter from Ian who has a lovely way of making you feel at home, like a part of the furniture. The food was plentiful and great quality, cooked to order. We then attempted to burn those calories off in the pool which is clearly well maintained and Ian’s pride and joy. The kids absolutely loved it, and we all enjoyed kicking back, enjoying the sunshine and playing on the various inflatables around the pool. A perfect family day! Sadly, we missed the Caribbean BBQ and pool party on Sunday but despite preparations been made, Ian and Deb took the time to ensure my family had whatever they needed , when they needed it. What a fantastic couple! It was our first trip to Devon but it certainly won’t be our last. We hope to see you both again soon Ian and Deb and thank you for a most wonderful stay. Ian and Debbie are lovely friendly Hosts , who made us feel Welcome from the second Ian opened the Door , Breakfast was excellent and room lovely , we really enjoyed our stay and the pool is an added extra and would definitely recommend the jacuzzi which was great, our experience was 10/10 and will definitely be back

What a fantastic time we had. An amazing guest house / hotel with all the amenities. Nothing was too much trouble for Ian and Debbie. Nice that your dogs can stay too, although we didn’t have our pooch with us. The place was immaculately clean and the breakfast on offer was fantastic. The swimming pool was lovely and very private, a little sun trap. Ian and Debbie are knowledgeable about the area and always friendly and interested about your stay.
