We booked directly with the hotel, without intermediaries, over the phone. They told us we had to pay a deposit to secure our stay. I've never done that before, but given the dates, we understood. They also mentioned they were giving us a ground-floor apartment, which didn't seem like a problem due to our mobility issues. I asked if it had a terrace, and they said it had an interior one. We thought, "Better, cooler." So far, so good. But all our joy vanished when we arrived at the apartment and were greeted by an unbearable stench upon opening the door. I honestly don't know how to describe the smell, with cables hanging from the wall and the terrace, as you can see in the photo, completely unsanitary. We went back to reception and told them we weren't willing to stay there (for the eight days we had already paid for) because of the unsanitary conditions and that they should give us another apartment. As luck would have it, there was only one penthouse left, and since we were already in Torrevieja on July 22nd, well, where were we going to find accommodation?! So we had to pay another €400, bringing the total to €1206. But even after paying that much, we didn't get any rest. We found the cutlery dirty, the dishes just as bad (one of the receptionists came to see it and started cleaning it), and there wasn't even a parasol on the penthouse terrace... well, it was awful. The bathroom, etc., etc. When I went out to the penthouse, I had to thoroughly clean the table because it was covered in pigeon droppings, and not just from one day. I think I even scratched the bar table (yes, the ones they put on bar terraces) that they had set up. I sat down in a chair and almost fell over; it was broken! And the farce continues! Since the terrace was in full sun all day (there was no awning or anything), we asked reception for a parasol. They gave it to us, but of course, without a base. So the receptionist tied it to a chair, and that's how we spent the entire eight days, constantly careful that the parasol, the chairs, and the whole contraption didn't blow out the attic window. The receptionist told me she had already spoken to her boss and asked them to please provide us with a base to hold it... We left, and we never heard anything more about the base. We found what was happening to us at this place unbelievable, since we were there as tourists. We stayed in an apartment in Alicante city, in La Manga, in Cartagena… and we had no problems whatsoever, quite the opposite. What I don't understand is the "quality" sign they have at the entrance. It's outrageous, because even reception confirmed that yes, the ground floor needed to be renovated, but I saw, besides the ground floor, many other deficiencies, and cleanliness was sorely lacking. They also told me that there was someone replacing the cleaner, but the customer isn't to blame for that situation, nor should they have to deal with any internal problems of the establishment. We go on vacation, not to solve other people's problems. See examples in the photos. Oh, and by the way, the clothesline was rusty, and as for the comfort of the bed, I suppose…
