Reviews of Kinosaki Onsen TSURUYA Ryokan

Very cozy Japanese style place which can provide authentic tasty fresh and beautiful food for breakfast and dinner, clean rooms which can have private restrooms and tiny cozy balcony. Staff is very polite and carrying, English-speaking. Hotoni arigato!

Not worth the price you pay for. Dinner and breakfast was mediocre at best, they brand it as premium but the ingredients were pretty much frozen products you could get out of don quijote. Located all the way at the end of the onsen town, getting around has to be by foot and it is not an easy walk. Staff are friendly and nice, but by Japanese standards it is not good. There are better options in the vicinity compared to this.

This ryokan is above my expectation. The included evening meal is delicious and they provided very good service all the time. The breakfast is at an affiliated cafe nearby providing western food and the included items are also better than what I expected. The only negative is that the location is far from the station and there is no car service to drive you, but the other amenities make up for it.

The location of this inn was great, right in front of the river. The breakfast was delicious and had a wide variety of items. The staff were all very considerate, so it was a very comfortable inn!

It's a little far from the station, but the route is all local and walkable, so it's OK. It's right in the middle of the cherry blossom street, which is beautiful in this season. The breakfast and dinner look very rich, but the actual quantity is a bit small. The shabu-shabu beef doesn't come with eggs, probably because the quota is occupied by the hot spring egg experience. The room is large, but it's a bit cold at night with only the air conditioner on. Guests are provided with a 40-minute private soup, which is not bad

The waiters are polite and helpful, but the decoration is a bit old and the facilities need to be improved. The food quality is average, but the portion is sufficient and you can eat a lot.

A family of 3 stayed, and the room was on the 2nd floor. Some rooms have shared bathrooms. The private bath was inside and clean. The food was very good, but it was a shame that we couldn't drink sake bought from outside.

It's a very safe inn. All the staff were kind and helpful. It was in a good location for touring the famous hot springs of Kinosaki Onsen, so I had a lot of fun.

The room was very small and old, and there were unidentified flying insects. We had people come to catch them twice in one night. There is only a sink in the room, and most rooms do not have toilets. To use the toilet, you have to go to the bathroom outside. The quilt was a bit small, my feet were exposed, and the pillow was very hard. There is only one bathing place in the hotel. You need to make a reservation. You can only bathe for 40 minutes a day. It is also very cold inside and there is no heating. It is best to bathe in a hot spring outside. The Japanese breakfast is average, and the Western breakfast eaten at an outside coffee shop is not bad. All in all, my stay was very disappointing and the price/performance ratio was very low.

Such kind staff, lovely room, yukatas and towels provided, and the most amazing dinners we had on our two week trip - crab and beef! The private bath was also a very nice amenity. The location on the far side of town by the ropeway and Kouno-yu and Goshono-yu baths was convenient. Only con was the futons were a bit thin to sleep on.
