We used it in a long stay (22 hours of check-in at 13:00 and check-out at 11:00) plan. In the room, a large sofa faces the Mogami River and the mountain 々, and enjoys the picturesque scenery, and involuntarily swallowed the phrase ”May rain and early Mogami River”. You can overlook the Mogami River from the large communal bath and the open-air bath. The hot spring water was a thin cloudy water. There was no one, so I felt luxurious. It was good to be able to take a half-body bath in both the indoor bath and the open-air bath. The number of people in the bathroom was up to 4 people, so I was able to use it without mixing. The hot spring name is Kusanagi Onsen. I had free coffee in the lobby. The lobby area also has a nice atmosphere. Supper was at the venue, but there were no loud people because each table was large and I was told to eat silently first. The food looked and tasted good, and it went well with local sake. In particular, the pork shabu-shabu of the prefecture brand pork ”Rice Daughter Pork” was very delicious with two kinds of sauce. Breakfast was a buffet style with only drinks, and it was a Japanese set meal with a large number of items, so I had a satisfying breakfast. The inn here was very hospitality and the staff were all kind and polite. I was healed by the warmth and nature of the people.

２ minutes walk from Tsuruoka Station. There is an artificial hot spring bath, breakfast is at least delicious, and dotol coffee service can be taken to the room. I just made a little higher comfort twin room, but it is full of eyes and is not easy to use with two double beds. I want you to make a little smaller bed and make a place to spread the suitcase.

First of all, I entered the building and was surprised that the facilities were beautiful. The staff at the front desk and breakfast restaurant are a squeaky and kind impression. The room was necessary and sufficient, the bed was semi-double hard and I rested slowly. The negative is that it is far from the station and there are few restaurants.

I wondered what it would be like in a heavy snowfall area, but this year was a warm winter (laughs). It seemed to be about half the amount of snow as usual, but there was still a lot of snow. Unlike a large hot spring hotel, it was easy to move around, and there was plenty of room for bathing and eating. It may happen, but it was quiet and really nice, with no children. I was worried that the food was mainly edible wild plants, but I couldn't eat it. The hearty food was impressive. There was often nobody at the front desk, so I had to wait (laughs), but it was a very good time without any particular discomfort.

Stayed for a night without having any of the hotel meals so will only comment on what I experienced. The hotel is situated in a very small town and it was decent considering Shinjo not being a rather popular destination compared to other parts of Yamagata. Free parking and the double room we stayed in was very huge for Japanese standards. Some facilities were old but still clean. WIFI was quite unstable though and some websites took very long to load. Staff at the reception were friendly and check in check out went smooth. There is practically nothing around the area so be prepared to go there with food if your meals are not included, and if you dont have a car. There is only a visible drug store walkable from the hotel, and I think a family mart convenience store some minutes away. We walked to a big supermarket, which was about 15 minutes walk from the hotel along the river.

出羽三山巡りにあたって利用させて頂きました。当方ノープランの急な旅だった為、予約無しで伺いましたが、ご主人が快く受け入れて下さりました（宿坊では予約が無いと厳しいと断られました）。下調べが浅かったため、今回は羽黒山のみの参拝となりましたが、三山を巡ったような体験が出来る博物館を紹介してくださったり、次回の旅の参考になる情報を教えてもらいました。建物についてですが、昔ながらの旅館といった感じでとても味があって◎です。はじめて来たはずの所なのに、こんなに「居心地が良いな」と感じた事を不思議に思います。また、他の方も書かれていますが、広い旅館にも関わらず隅々まで清掃が行き届いており、「清潔感」がありました。キレイな喫煙ルームもあるので喫煙者も安心です。お料理についてですが、「すべてにおいて平均点を上回ってくる」洗練された味がしました。旅館の料理といえば大抵１つ２つはクセのあるお品が出されるイメージがありますが、ここは日本人なら誰が食べても「美味しい」と感じると思います。特に茄子の天ぷらは絶品でした（衣はサクサクっとした仕上がりで、中身は口の中で「ジュワァ～」ととろけます）。全体として、ご主人や女将さんの優しさを感じられるとても良い旅館です。こういう旅館はいつまでも日本にあり続けてほしいなと思いました（文句なしの星５です！）。

Restaurant healthy French. You can also eat Yamagata beef as an additional item. I feel that it is easy to eat alone. There are not many shops where you can eat alone within walking distance. Convenience stores are ５ minutes. There are many shops if you take a taxi, but then the business in front of the station may be good. Bath sauna and open-air bath are good. You can self-reflect in the sauna. The cold bath is also next to the open-air bath, and you can enter while looking at the Suiden. This is quite highly rated. Breakfast I definitely want you to eat this! Just good taste at just the right price! I felt that this was just right!
