Hotel Punta Tipa

I have to give them 5* despite the shortfalls because of the views, the awesome staff and the proximity to the beach. This is a beach resort with direct access to the sea, with nicely designed common spaces, a well stocked bar and a good restaurant. My room was tiny. Little storage space, small bathroom with poor amenities, but it is modern, there is a safe deposit box, I had a large comfortable bed as requested and pleasant views over the sea and the city in the distance. Breakfast was good and so was dinner. Depending on the month, I am not sure it justifies the high price, but I didn't see any better in Trapani.

DO NOT BOOK HERE IF YOU LIKE AIR CONDITIONING! This hotel likes to present as posh and luxury, but it definitely is not. We paid $827 for three nights. Upon check in, our room was warm (27.5 Celsius) but figured it was from not having the amenities turned on until we arrived. This temperature stayed consistent until after sundown. By 11pm, it only dropped to 25.4. This was brought to the attention of hotel staff who brought us a fan, but that has hardly remedied the issue. When asked if anything else could be done, they told us that the hotel is just hot, that every room had this issue, and there was nothing else that could be done. The other issues, ants in the room and a dirty floor, are hardly a concern for us considering we will be extremely warm for the entirety of our stay. For anyone who appreciates being comfortable in their accommodations, run far, far away from this hotel and book something that will be worth your hard earned money.

I rarely leave negative reviews, but our experience at this hotel was extremely disappointing. The room was very misleading compared to what was advertised online. When we expressed our concerns and requested a refund, the hotel refused to accommodate us despite the significant differences between the photos and the actual room. The room itself lacked basic amenities, including conditioner. The tap water had a very strong chlorine smell, which made it unpleasant to use. We were also placed directly next to the reception desk and main entrance, resulting in constant noise throughout the day and night. The walls were paper-thin, and we could clearly hear conversations, doors opening and closing, lobby traffic, and noise from neighboring rooms. One of the biggest disappointments was the beach. The ocean directly in front of the hotel had a strong unpleasant odor, and local information indicated concerns about sewage contamination, making it unsuitable for swimming during our stay. This was not something that was made clear when booking. The surrounding area looked nothing like the photos we saw online. There were very few quality dining options nearby, and unfortunately, the food at the hotel was also below average. Overall, the experience fell far short of expectations. Between the misleading room description, poor noise insulation, lack of basic amenities, unpleasant water quality, disappointing beach conditions, and subpar food options, we left feeling frustrated and disappointed. I would not stay here again and would recommend that future guests thoroughly research current conditions before booking.

Very frustrating that the Junior Suite "Sea View" room actually only has a partial see view from one side and a view of the road from the other. When it says sea view I expect the room to be fully facing the sea. Also the AC was very weak and the room never actually got down to the set temperature. One the plus side the morning breakfast was a good value and nice sea views on the back deck.

Nice deck overlooking the ocean and pool. Modern hotel. 30 min walk to town and 30 minute walk to the gondola. Nice walking and biking path just outside the hotel along the main road and ocean. Hotel is beside the busy main road, in the middle of nowhere. Room was small. Good breakfast. Pretty average dinner the seared tuna at €18 was overcooked and not very flavourful. Restaurant staff efficient but not overly friendly.

Stayed here for 3 nights in October. I was initially concerned by some of the reviews here, so was a bit apprehensive when I arrived. I found the hotel very clean, the private beach was quiet and wasn't dirty as described by some travellers. Perhaps it's because October is not peak time. The hotel's minibus shuttle bus service is useful. It's walkable from the hotel to Trapani town centre, along the beach, though it's a little far for me. I've always found it a problem in Italy to get a taxi back to a hotel once you're out and about, even in big cities. At Punta Tipa, you can phone the hotel reception and ask for their taxi/minibus to pick you up -- just need to describe where you are. I had dinner at the hotel's own restaurant one evening. Food was good but a little on the expensive side. Good panoramic view from the hotel's private beach, relaxing on deck chairs or comfy sofas.

It a new hotel, far from the city but a very nice place to stay. It’s on the beach and has a restaurant. You don’t need to go out to eat.

Safe and clean property, with great free parking options. We included the buffet breakfast option, which was a great addition with many options. Bedding was overall very average and not particularly comfortable.

As a very frequent traveller all over the world, let me tell you, I will never stay here again, and would recommend you run as far away as possible from this hotel!! We walked into our room to find ants all over the sink, bugs on the wall and flying around, air conditioning not working in 30 degree weather, and the bathroom roof moulded from the shower above. There is a whole in the roof which was leaking. Upon letting the staff know and asking for a new room, it was met with the staff being rude and being aggressive towards us. They came up with excuse after excuse and were very unhelpful. In addition, I gave them the benefit of the doubt and emailed them with my complaints in the hope it could be fixed and allow the rest of our stay to be pleasant. Well… I was wrong. Unfortunately, their email was unapologetic. Simply rude. They took no responsibility in terms of the room issues or their staff member being rude. They didn’t even acknowledge their staff member or the bathroom roof leak. And at the end of their email, they said they would offer us a change of room but as we weren’t at the hotel in the very moment that suited them, we were no longer willing to take that option. They didn’t contact me, or try and offer me the room change they just took it upon them selves to say it was not possible. I would not be recommending this hotel to a single person, and suggest you look at any other accomodation in Trapani besides Hotel Punta Tipa.
