Sunset Vistas Two Bedroom Beachfront Suites

There was construction going on that was not made known prior to the stay or during booking. I am from an hour north, so I understand this area still being under construction - but a heads up would have been helpful. Workers were GRINDING cement on the floors directly outside my room. Imagine nails on a chalkboard X10 the sound was utterly ear piercing. The sound of the grinding, mixed with a generators, huge vacuum and add in the atrocious smell, dust and debris everywhere - it was awful. I asked about this and was told moving my room wouldn’t do much and I wouldn’t have as good of view and they would be done soon. They finished at 5:30 Friday, great - they were right back at it at 9:00 AM Saturday and continued the entire day. We were only there Friday to Sunday - so needless to say it was not the peaceful getaway us teachers were expecting. Lastly, the dishwasher was full of moldy dishes. Very disappointed - as I was looking forward to making Sunset Vistas a home away from home. The room was fantastic - but no one should have been allowed to book during these upgrades - or have to walk their luggage through these debris next to a railing that had the bolts taken out of it from the floor for many feet.

The week we were there they were doing MAJOR renovations and construction at the property, which they did not let us know in advance. This caused constant loud noise and barricaded areas. In addition, the town of Treasure Island initiated a sand dredging project that shut down access to the beach the last two days of our stay. We had to access another beach from an adjacent property. I was thankful we were not just checking in. We also thought everything was in walking distance...not so much. Areas of interest (John's Pass, Publix Market, etc.) were at least .7-1.0 miles away. The trolley service is inconvenient and has a cost per ride (unlike Siesta Key which has free trolley rides to town and LOTS within true walking distance). If visiting this area, I would definitely recommend renting a car. I will say the staff at Sunset Vistas was accommodating & pleasant and the room was nice, along with the pool and hot tub. The beach was also very beautiful...until the dredging rigs and construction trucks arrived!

Great location, very nice pool and hot tub, friendly staff. Room was not very clean and had a mildew/mold smell in the bathroom. Lots of construction noise.

They are in the middle of renovation's on top of beach closures due to dredging. With all of the set backs staff have been more than accommodating.

Plumbing issues w toilets, no bathroom near pool or beach, poor communication from office, they keep disconnecting me

Everything was great. What an adorable place to stay. Pool was a great temperature for the kids. We really enjoyed it. How nice that they have a little Cafe right on property.
