The hotel is in a business area, for me the aviation company RTC. It is great for me but not really (as far as I can tell) a tourist destination site.
As for reliable, failsafe lunch there is Veracruz Mexican across the highway and for dinner, Outback Steakhouse. For emergency midnight food, there are a couple of gas stations nearby: more than enough to survive.
Watch out for Tampa drivers on the highway, however; they must be the absolute worst drivers in Florida. You must adopt one of two driving styles to survive: routinely stomp of the gas and drive around everyone slower than you, or in the alternative, be prepared to slam on the brakes when some guy cuts in front of you. Closely. Again. About once every mile of driving. And if you're getting a rental car? Pay for additional insurance just this one time.
