The Westin la Paloma Resort & Spa

The Westin la Paloma Resort & Spa

Tucson
We have offered this feedback to corporate and property general management via email with no reply. Sadly, due to the issues that we experienced we probably won't be visiting again. Its a beautiful property but the staff and issues we experienced don't allow us to highly recommend. (+)At check-in my wife had a helpful and excellent experience with Jaime Ortiz. He took the time to help her get our family and our luggage to the room since I had not arrived yet. He is to be commended for his genuine attention and how truly eager he was to help. (-)My wife enjoyed cocktails from the Azul lounge and unfortunately received very aloof service from the female bartender with dark hair and glasses. I also experienced this same level of dissatisfactory service from this particular bartender on a separate occasion on Saturday. (-) Saturday morning our room was covered by black ants. My wife called the front desk and asked that housekeeping or maintenance please come to the room to address the issue. The issue was not taken care of until a few hours later while we were at the pool. (+) Saturday, we spent our breakfast at Azul and Tommy was our server. He was warm, friendly, and very helpful. He made recommendations for entrée selections and interacted with our children in a genuine way. (+) We spent Saturday late morning and early afternoon at the pool and Andrea helped us with our alcohol and food order. She was very sweet and checked on us as she saw us around at the different pools. (+) We booked our 2 children into the Kids Club from 5:50pm-7:50pm on Saturday. Hannah was efficient in the reservation and check in process. Our children detailed that they had fun. (+) We wanted to enjoy some tapas from Contigo while our kids were in the Kids Club but didn’t know how to get there. We went to the front desk and Andrianna actually came around the desk and walked us to the door to ensure we had correct directions. She was the 2nd employee, from Jaime (mentioned earlier) that went above and beyond to help my family. (+) At Contigo our experience was perfection, which we hadn’t experienced at La Paloma up to the point unfortunately. My wife made sure to ask for the manager, Jorge, and share that Erin O and our server Danny V were such great staff members throughout our meal! (-) We returned to our room to see that the ants were still prevalent now having gotten into all of my children’s snacks and a dozen cookies we had delivered to the hotel for our children as a Saturday night surprise. Ants were in my son’s shoes and our carryon bags. It was a mess and my wife had to spend some time on her staycation cleaning our room and hotel furniture, and throwing out so much food! (-) We went to breakfast again at Azul on Sunday morning and Michelle was our server. She forgot to fulfill some of our small requests and our drinks were not refilled in our meal. When she came to bring our bill she open mouthed coughed onto my son and his pancakes. This is appalling! She made n

No one has lived in Ctrip, so it is the first review, write down the real review: Advantages: clean, rooms, bedding, and toilets are very clean and tidy, 2 looks like a legendary motel (I haven't lived in it, I don't know what a motel is, I thought it might be a car modification called a motel, There is an exquisite old car at the entrance of this hotel. My friend said it might be a motel 😅, I don’t know.) But we have done a lot of art fountains. The entire yard is also clean, orderly, safe, and absolutely safe. There are lobby and two The very formal front desk looks and wears pretty nice including talking, so security is no problem. There is free milk, ice water, coffee supply in the small lobby, there is a long bar, and there is another one when you go out. The small swimming pool looks very clean) Disadvantages: The 17-square-meter house really feels small and compact, the bed is 1.5 meters, it is really small for two people, and the air conditioner is very loud. I didn’t take the real scene of the hotel. It’s almost the same as the hotel itself, but the simple room catalog is very interesting. It should be counted as our domestic bed and breakfast. I saw the sanitation cleaner during the checkout. Wow, I’m in good shape. Beautiful black girl Tucson made a temporary decision. It was because the rooms became dissatisfied during various major exhibitions. Or else the price of 4 points or more was not decent. The AC Marriott in the city center last year has been more than 4,000 and nearly 5,000. In fact, the hotel rooms are not only large. It’s clean. The facilities in other rooms of the brand hotel are fine, so after thinking about the domestic epidemic, I’d better save some. I can also buy more masks. Finally, I looked at it on the booking and the evaluation was pretty good. I forgot the high score of 8.5 or 9.1. Most of the comments were clean and safe. It was 1500 on the day and I made a reservation for one day. In the next two days, I chose the Four Points by Sheraton Airport Hotel with a score of 4.2 because it was the next two days. The price is good for 1,300 and there is a room for a night. It was confirmed later that it was quite clear. The hotel next to the airport occupies the largest area and the hotel environment is good.

We stayed at the Doubletree when we dropped off our daughter at U of A. The property is a little dated but fine. When we checked in, the gave us a room in the court yard area of the hotel. The court yard wing is a two story building that is separate from the main hotel which is about a 10 story building. We were on the second floor and immediately upon entering the room it smelled musty and my wife said it smelled like cigarettes. We also noticed that the AC wasn't working very well and called down to the front desk to get another room. They said that no other rooms were available and that it was monsoon season and the AC struggled to keep up. After spending a hot nigh in the room, we left that day to move our daughter into U of A. When we returned, the room was still warm and I called down to the front desk and again asked if we could get another room. The answer was no and then I asked to speak to the manager. Alex the manager called me back and apologized for poor AC and agreed to discount our room because of the issue. He also sent a maintenance person up to look at the AC and bring us a fan. The maintenance person said that after an adjustment the AC was blowing seven degrees cooler. I am not sure that was a the case but maybe it got a little better, not sure. Anyway, we ended up leaving a day early and ate the last night of our stay. Speaking with Alex the manger, it sounds like the problem is confined to the court yard area and that the main building is fine. I would just say buyer beware if you are considering staying here during the hot summer months.

Homewood Suites by Hilton Tucson/St. Philip's Plaza University

My wife and I stayed eight nights at this property. Here is a summary of the pros and cons: Pros: Check-in was efficient Very comfortable king bed Breakfast is commensurate with other Homewood Suites we have stayed (typical breakfast consists of fresh fruit salad, breakfast potatoes, omelet, sausage links, pastries, waffles or oatmeal, and juices/coffee) Heated salt water pool was clean and enjoyable to use Hot tub adjacent to the pool was clean and enjoyable to use Two gas grills are in good repair; I grilled ribeye steaks one evening – turned out great! Two-burner stovetop allowed us to cook three meals in the room (burners are small, so you need to keep rotating food from edges of pan to center and vice versa) Housekeeping service, offered every four days at present time due to covid precautions, was thorough Onsite laundry facilities worked well ($1.75 per load in washer and $1.75 per load in dryer) Cons: We reserved a pool overview room, but none where available at check-in, then we were given a ‘mountain view’ facing to the east (the mountains are to the north) The evening social is only offered on Wednesdays – not necessarily a true con, but something to be aware of when you are used to Homewood Suites in Ohio/Tennessee/Kentucky/Indiana/Iowa that provide the evening social Mon-Thurs; the Wednesday evening social consisted of the following choices: a cabernet or chardonnay wine, Dos Equis or Coors Light beer, fresh carrots/broccoli/cucumber slices and ranch dressing, a mixed green salad, minestrone soup, and bread sticks Upon checking into the room, we found the dishwasher filled with dirty dishes We didn’t hear any noise from the breezeway or our adjoining suite; however, the noise from the suite directly above ours was vivid – guests simply walking in the suite above our created ‘trembling’ in our walls Bathroom shower grout was cracked and in quite bad repair (see photos)

La Posada Lodge & Casitas, Ascend Hotel Collection

Casas Adobes|3.05km from Walmart
Overall decent experience. We chose them because of location and dog friendly. Room clean and bed comfortable. We could get HBO which was nice. Pool and spa were clean and heated well. We had a courtyard room and it was quiet overall. The breakfast buffet was a step above the usual hard boiled egg make your own waffle type mid price hotel offering, and we enjoyed it very much. Gringo Grill was mediocre; I think tourists who don’t know about the amazing Mexican food restaurants Tucson has to offer won’t know the difference. We came in kind of tired and so thought, based on the website claims that you have to make reservations to eat here because it was so in demand, it would be great but weren’t that impressed. Our server seemed confused as to where she could find a bowl of water for our dog, which didn’t feel very dog friendly. She also told us that most people don’t eat on the patio when the view there is really nice. Don’t know what that was all about. She was very young. No pool towels available both days, and we were there in the mid morning — not really at a time when there was anyone there at all. No dog waste bags in the courtyard dispenser the three days and two nights we stayed. Several plugs in room 112 don’t work. We plugged in phone charger and some outlets were too big for our up to date technology. Otherwise we had a nice time and really, these were all first world problems. It was a good room for the price.

Similar to a motel, low price and good health. The breakfast included is very general, too sweet to eat at all, but fortunately there is coffee, you can drink a cup of coffee, eat two slices of bread.
Adobe Rose Inn

I had a wonderful relaxing stay for a week in August when I stayed in Tucson while my son started as a freshman at the University of Arizona. The Inn is just a couple of blocks walk from the University in the Sam Hughes neighbourhood, which I felt very safe walking through by myself. The Inn is a true oasis in the desert, with a beautiful garden, sparkling swimming pool, a magnificent 3 course breakfast cooked by Dina every morning and spacious, immaculately clean bedrooms beautifully decorated with local Arizona crafts and furnishings. I stayed in the Casita room which had a separate lounge room and was separate from the main building so I felt like I had plenty of space to myself but could also chat with the other guests at breakfast. Dina made lovely banana muffins and there were snacks and plenty of bottled water we could enjoy during the day which I really appreciated. The inn felt like my own home in Tucson, with free wifi, a mini fridge, coffee machine, microwave, air conditioning and 2 TVs in my room and Dina was absolutely the best hostess. Not only was she an amazing cook but she gave me great tips on places to visit like Tombstone and the Desert Museum. I stayed at 2 other hotels in Tucson during my stay but neither came even slightly close to the Adobe Rose Inn. I wouldn't stay anywhere else. Thank you so much to the Adobe Rose Inn and Dina for such a lovely stay.
Holiday Inn Express Tucson-Airport

I am a Platinum Elite member and stay often at Holiday Inn Express (HIE) locations because I know what I am getting each stay. Spent 2 nights Dec 30 - Jan 1 with my teenage daughter. The staff are some of the best I have interacted with in years at a hotel. Friendly and seem to care about the guest experience. Not just 1 or 2 but all of them. Easily ranks top 2 in staff at the properties I have stayed at. The hotel itself is essentially the same as all HIE locations. Rooms are the same across the properties with a 'local' feeling to the lobby and pool. The pool was open and lobby/breakfast area clean and comfortable. The room I was in could use an update but overall I would rate it average across all the properties I have stayed at. HIE offers the same hot breakfast everywhere but does have a rotating menu for some variety on multile night stays. Is is a 5 star meal...no but it will fill you up and keep you going until lunch. I had a small billing issue that I called IHG about when I got home. I tried handling it before departure but I left very early in the morning and the front desk gal couldn't figure out what went wrong. IHG indicated I would get a call from the hotel within 48 hours. Less than 30 minutes later the General Manager of the property called me and we had the issue sorted very quickly. The error was corrected the next day on my credit card statement. I would not hesistate to stay here again.
Four Points by Sheraton Tucson Airport

Price wasn’t bad. As a whole the hotel looks pretty good, lobby area was nice, employees were friendly. But first I booked a double Queen and they moved my family of 4 to a single king and gave me a rollaway. At first glance the room looked ok but upon closer look it was fairly dirty. Dead bugs in all the lights, stains on the bedding, dead bug smashed on the wall, markings and dirty on the walls. Doors have a sizeable gap at the bottom and walls are thin so you hear everything. And during the 3 nights we were here people were very loud and inconsiderate of other guests, slamming doors, running down the hallway. The rollaway was completely stained over most of the bed. Over all very meh stay.

We met Alicia in the bar/restaurant and she made us the best margaritas. The dinner was good. The pizza was large and the lasagna was homemade, yummy. The room was clean and we loved the layout of this suite. We had a trailer which they accomodated us for the space. The people were so nice and helpful. If you stay here say hi to Alicia in the restaurant/bar. Oh and they have starbucks coffee and danish. Our visit was very smooth. no complaints.
La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Tucson Airport

The hotel is clean and the price is relatively cheap, but the breakfast is simple, mainly bread, omelettes, fruit, cakes, etc. Waffles, we won't do it ourselves. In addition, it is best not to live on the first floor. Their hotel is different from our domestic hotel. The first floor has doors in all directions, so guests can come and go at any time. Arranged for me 138 The room was right next to the door. One person who was out in the middle of the night woke up. It was difficult to fall asleep when I was on a business trip, and then I lost sleep all night. The hotel has a self-service laundry room, but don't wash the good clothes. Some of my shirts are not wrinkled. The hotel can pick up and drop off to the airport for free. The location is right next door and opposite the Hilton and Sheraton hotels. There is also a restaurant R+R Bar&Grill. It tastes good, but I don't have a single atmosphere. This hotel does not have a restaurant itself
