Best Five Star Hotels in Tucson

Very beautiful place, there is a lot of things to do, the rooms are very clean and comfortable. Valet staff can be a little more kinder and helpful. But overall the rest of the staff was very kind and helpful. Good experience, would recommend staying in a beautiful place like this.

We have offered this feedback to corporate and property general management via email with no reply. Sadly, due to the issues that we experienced we probably won't be visiting again. Its a beautiful property but the staff and issues we experienced don't allow us to highly recommend. (+)At check-in my wife had a helpful and excellent experience with Jaime Ortiz. He took the time to help her get our family and our luggage to the room since I had not arrived yet. He is to be commended for his genuine attention and how truly eager he was to help. (-)My wife enjoyed cocktails from the Azul lounge and unfortunately received very aloof service from the female bartender with dark hair and glasses. I also experienced this same level of dissatisfactory service from this particular bartender on a separate occasion on Saturday. (-) Saturday morning our room was covered by black ants. My wife called the front desk and asked that housekeeping or maintenance please come to the room to address the issue. The issue was not taken care of until a few hours later while we were at the pool. (+) Saturday, we spent our breakfast at Azul and Tommy was our server. He was warm, friendly, and very helpful. He made recommendations for entrée selections and interacted with our children in a genuine way. (+) We spent Saturday late morning and early afternoon at the pool and Andrea helped us with our alcohol and food order. She was very sweet and checked on us as she saw us around at the different pools. (+) We booked our 2 children into the Kids Club from 5:50pm-7:50pm on Saturday. Hannah was efficient in the reservation and check in process. Our children detailed that they had fun. (+) We wanted to enjoy some tapas from Contigo while our kids were in the Kids Club but didn’t know how to get there. We went to the front desk and Andrianna actually came around the desk and walked us to the door to ensure we had correct directions. She was the 2nd employee, from Jaime (mentioned earlier) that went above and beyond to help my family. (+) At Contigo our experience was perfection, which we hadn’t experienced at La Paloma up to the point unfortunately. My wife made sure to ask for the manager, Jorge, and share that Erin O and our server Danny V were such great staff members throughout our meal! (-) We returned to our room to see that the ants were still prevalent now having gotten into all of my children’s snacks and a dozen cookies we had delivered to the hotel for our children as a Saturday night surprise. Ants were in my son’s shoes and our carryon bags. It was a mess and my wife had to spend some time on her staycation cleaning our room and hotel furniture, and throwing out so much food! (-) We went to breakfast again at Azul on Sunday morning and Michelle was our server. She forgot to fulfill some of our small requests and our drinks were not refilled in our meal. Expectations were somewhat higher due to the reviews. Maybe it was the room itself which was spacious and clean but the bathroom was mostly the problem. It was too big, very cold due to leaky windows and no heater. Slow drains all around, faucet about to come off, could use an entire makeover. It was very cold during our stay so the room heater was working almost 24/7. Heater temp and air temp didn't feel right, sometimes not enough heat, other times too warm. Could not regulate the temperature well, plus with all the leaky windows, maybe that was the best it could do under the circumstances. Best part of the room was it was upstairs and the view was very nice, if you ignored all the noise from the staff maintenance area. The breakfast buffet was okay, slight variation each morning but the wait staff was not very friendly and not attentive at all. One coffee refill would of been nice, which most of us had to ask for and half the time they never came back. If they were real busy, we could understand but being close to the kitchen area, you could hear them talking and not attending to the clientele. Will not be going back anytime soon.

Super beautiful hotel! Definitely felt clean and sanitizer. My only hang up was 2 of the desk employees seemed to be annoyed. Other then that, I loved it. Right off the 10, super easy to get to.

We stayed at the Doubletree when we dropped off our daughter at U of A. The property is a little dated but fine. When we checked in, the gave us a room in the court yard area of the hotel. The court yard wing is a two story building that is separate from the main hotel which is about a 10 story building. We were on the second floor and immediately upon entering the room it smelled musty and my wife said it smelled like cigarettes. We also noticed that the AC wasn't working very well and called down to the front desk to get another room. They said that no other rooms were available and that it was monsoon season and the AC struggled to keep up. After spending a hot nigh in the room, we left that day to move our daughter into U of A. When we returned, the room was still warm and I called down to the front desk and again asked if we could get another room. The answer was no and then I asked to speak to the manager. Alex the manager called me back and apologized for poor AC and agreed to discount our room because of the issue. He also sent a maintenance person up to look at the AC and bring us a fan. The maintenance person said that after an adjustment the AC was blowing seven degrees cooler. I am not sure that was a the case but maybe it got a little better, not sure. Anyway, we ended up leaving a day early and ate the last night of our stay. Speaking with Alex the manger, it sounds like the problem is confined to the court yard area and that the main building is fine. I would just say buyer beware if you are considering staying here during the hot summer months.

Always a fan of the AC hotels, and this one definitely meets the mark. Located in downtown Tucson, short drive from the airport and 1 block away from nightlife, coffee, and restaurants. Hotel parking can be pricey, but luckily there are some decent street parking options around. The hotel is right next to a nightclub so you may hear noises til late night so beware if you value a quiet night's sleep. Lobby is well appointed, not huge but has a decent bar. Check-in was quick and easy, not much of a line. Elevators get you to your room quickly, not much of a wait. Not the tallest hotel but you have a decent view of downtown Tucson with large windows. Bed is nice and comfortable, rooms are large with plenty of outlets and luggage storage. Bathroom is large and comfortable and wifi works perfectly. Overall will try to stay again.

Wonderful location near the airport. The room was very spacious and quite comfortable. The pool is heat year round and was very nice to have available. The on site restaurant breakfast buffet was decent enough for the price. Complimentary cookies upon check-in was also a nice touch. Locked myself out of the room and it was not a hassle to get back in. Also, grabbing sna KS from the self serve kiosk and billing them to the room before swimming was super convenient.

We stayed 4 nights at the end of May and found this hotel to be a pleasure. The room was clean and stocked and very large for my family of 3. Staff were very friendly. Parking was a little tight especially since it was a holiday weekend but never had an issue. Plenty of places to eat in the area and pool was nice. Their restaurant was not opened yet but the breakfast seemed packed every morning. The hotel could use a little updating and fixing up. Some loose outside tiles by one of the entry gates and are room could have used a new coat of paint to hide the evidence that there was once a major roof leak but still enjoyed the room. AC unit was loud when watching tv but at least it was cold air. Will definitely stay here again when visiting family in the future.

I enjoyed my staycation here very much. While some reviewers observe that the hotel is old and dated, in general, that was not at all my experience (except for the drapes in the room which may have been from the last century). Fact is - this IS an old hotel and a Tucson landmark. My room and balcony were comfortable, clean, and pleasant. The soaking tub was delightful. My room overlooked the pool (salt water!) which added to my enjoyment. The bed was comfortable as were the chairs, large ottoman, and small sofa. I liked the computer desk. The grounds abound with native plants. I don’t play golf, but I understand that it is an excellent course. Only one of the two pools was open due to Covid restrictions, but it was thoroughly delightful and there was plenty of shade from umbrellas, decent lounge chairs, and some comfortable outdoor upholstered furniture available as well. I did not use the spa or fitness center, so I can’t comment on that. A few negatives in my book, though. First, the hotel is nowhere near ADA compliant. I understand a major upgrade is in the works so hopefully those issues can be addressed. Second, I think it’s ridiculous to charge for self-parking. Third, the hotel was not following the current CDC guidelines for indoor masking. The few times that I actually had to go into the lobby, I was the only person wearing a mask. When I compare that to a recent stay at another local resort where every single staff person and most of the guests I saw indoors were masked - I think that is inexcusable. Finally, the tv selections are heavily skewed to sports of all kind to the detriment of entertainment. Finally, the bed linens were pretty tired. Overall, I think the Omni Tucson is delightful. I would not hesitate to return or to recommend it to my friends. I look forward to the unveiling of the new and improved resort.
