Best Spa Hotel in Tucson

We have offered this feedback to corporate and property general management via email with no reply. Sadly, due to the issues that we experienced we probably won't be visiting again. Its a beautiful property but the staff and issues we experienced don't allow us to highly recommend. (+)At check-in my wife had a helpful and excellent experience with Jaime Ortiz. He took the time to help her get our family and our luggage to the room since I had not arrived yet. He is to be commended for his genuine attention and how truly eager he was to help. (-)My wife enjoyed cocktails from the Azul lounge and unfortunately received very aloof service from the female bartender with dark hair and glasses. I also experienced this same level of dissatisfactory service from this particular bartender on a separate occasion on Saturday. (-) Saturday morning our room was covered by black ants. My wife called the front desk and asked that housekeeping or maintenance please come to the room to address the issue. The issue was not taken care of until a few hours later while we were at the pool. (+) Saturday, we spent our breakfast at Azul and Tommy was our server. He was warm, friendly, and very helpful. He made recommendations for entrée selections and interacted with our children in a genuine way. (+) We spent Saturday late morning and early afternoon at the pool and Andrea helped us with our alcohol and food order. She was very sweet and checked on us as she saw us around at the different pools. (+) We booked our 2 children into the Kids Club from 5:50pm-7:50pm on Saturday. Hannah was efficient in the reservation and check in process. Our children detailed that they had fun. (+) We wanted to enjoy some tapas from Contigo while our kids were in the Kids Club but didn’t know how to get there. We went to the front desk and Andrianna actually came around the desk and walked us to the door to ensure we had correct directions. She was the 2nd employee, from Jaime (mentioned earlier) that went above and beyond to help my family. (+) At Contigo our experience was perfection, which we hadn’t experienced at La Paloma up to the point unfortunately. My wife made sure to ask for the manager, Jorge, and share that Erin O and our server Danny V were such great staff members throughout our meal! (-) We returned to our room to see that the ants were still prevalent now having gotten into all of my children’s snacks and a dozen cookies we had delivered to the hotel for our children as a Saturday night surprise. Ants were in my son’s shoes and our carryon bags. It was a mess and my wife had to spend some time on her staycation cleaning our room and hotel furniture, and throwing out so much food! (-) We went to breakfast again at Azul on Sunday morning and Michelle was our server. She forgot to fulfill some of our small requests and our drinks were not refilled in our meal. Very beautiful place, there is a lot of things to do, the rooms are very clean and comfortable. Valet staff can be a little more kinder and helpful. But overall the rest of the staff was very kind and helpful. Good experience, would recommend staying in a beautiful place like this.

Very suitable for long stays! Dining nearby is also very convenient. The suite-style hotel apartment is fully equipped! Parking is free. The price is quite good 👌👍 quite satisfied with this hotel. Children work here, will come often in the future, will also book this hotel.

Always a fan of the AC hotels, and this one definitely meets the mark. Located in downtown Tucson, short drive from the airport and 1 block away from nightlife, coffee, and restaurants. Hotel parking can be pricey, but luckily there are some decent street parking options around. The hotel is right next to a nightclub so you may hear noises til late night so beware if you value a quiet night's sleep. Lobby is well appointed, not huge but has a decent bar. Check-in was quick and easy, not much of a line. Elevators get you to your room quickly, not much of a wait. Not the tallest hotel but you have a decent view of downtown Tucson with large windows. Bed is nice and comfortable, rooms are large with plenty of outlets and luggage storage. Bathroom is large and comfortable and wifi works perfectly. Overall will try to stay again.

The room was clean and the breakfast was good. The hotel also paid attention to the details. The comfort of the stay was good. There were several people in front of the check-in procedure and the waiting time was 30 minutes +.

Let me preface this with the fact that we almost always stay at a Holiday Inn Express when we take a couple day trip. It’s reliable, affordable, and has free breakfast. I arrived at this HIE expecting the same thing. When I checked in, I was informed that there was a possibility of no hot water for showers. I asked when they knew about this issue and they said two days ago. A repair was not going to happen until three days later. In other words, they knew about this and waited to tell me as I checked in which is very shady. I asked for a discount and they said they couldn’t authorize that. At this point, I had just flown 4 1/2 hours and then drove 2 hours and hiked the other part of the day. I had no energy to find another hotel room during spring break so we ended up staying. And as promised, in the morning, there was no hot water for our showers. It’s one thing to have issues like this and let me know in advance. I could have changed my reservation to a different HIE. But waiting till I got there to tell me made me feel trapped. As a side note, one of my favorite things about the HIE express stay is the pancake machine and even that was broken. Breakfast was odd too with no eggs and a variety of other odd offerings. On the good side, they had the best cinnamon rolls I have ever had there and the place was very clean.

I enjoyed my staycation here very much. While some reviewers observe that the hotel is old and dated, in general, that was not at all my experience (except for the drapes in the room which may have been from the last century). Fact is - this IS an old hotel and a Tucson landmark. My room and balcony were comfortable, clean, and pleasant. The soaking tub was delightful. My room overlooked the pool (salt water!) which added to my enjoyment. The bed was comfortable as were the chairs, large ottoman, and small sofa. I liked the computer desk. The grounds abound with native plants. I don’t play golf, but I understand that it is an excellent course. Only one of the two pools was open due to Covid restrictions, but it was thoroughly delightful and there was plenty of shade from umbrellas, decent lounge chairs, and some comfortable outdoor upholstered furniture available as well. I did not use the spa or fitness center, so I can’t comment on that. A few negatives in my book, though. First, the hotel is nowhere near ADA compliant. I understand a major upgrade is in the works so hopefully those issues can be addressed. Second, I think it’s ridiculous to charge for self-parking. Third, the hotel was not following the current CDC guidelines for indoor masking. The few times that I actually had to go into the lobby, I was the only person wearing a mask. When I compare that to a recent stay at another local resort where every single staff person and most of the guests I saw indoors were masked - I think that is inexcusable. Finally, the tv selections are heavily skewed to sports of all kind to the detriment of entertainment. Finally, the bed linens were pretty tired. Overall, I think the Omni Tucson is delightful. I would not hesitate to return or to recommend it to my friends. I look forward to the unveiling of the new and improved resort.
