The room is very spacious, the lake view outside the window is beautiful, the courtyard layout is well designed, and it is very clean. The girl in charge of reception is very lively and pretty, and the experience is good.

For the third time we stayed here and were very pleased that we did. My wife has a high sensitivity to mold, thus we decided to steer clear of the older classic lodgings on Samosir that look cool and also have lakefront properties, but—due to age—are likely moldy. This place is so clean! Service is awesome with very friendly and helpful staff. (The Singaporean reviewer who complained about limited number of staff seems simply undiscerning. Who cares the number of staff workers as long as they’re well trained, have a passion to serve and do their jobs extremely well with grace? If I would be as undiscerning as that reviewer I believe I’d have an unhappy life!). The view is awesome. Sitting under one of the pavilions by the lake at sunrise is one of the most de-stressing experiences we’ve ever had. Simply stunning and awesome and so renewing. Breakfast options are good, and there’s a reasonable list of menu options for other meals. And there are many other restaurants to explore as you walk around the Tuk-Tuk peninsula. It’s about a 10 minute walk to Citra mini mart which is amazingly complete. Since we visited last time they’ve added small refrigerators into the rooms. They’re currently building a new wing to their facility. They don’t use much machinery, so the noise is only a slight challenge, and it promises to be complete by July. The new wing does block about half of the lake view from the old lake view wing and eliminates part of the beautiful grounds, which is unfortunate. But it’s still a beautiful lodging. For the best view perhaps ask for room 4A or the one at ground level under it (4B?). We highly recommend this wonderful family-run hotel by beautiful Lake Toba.

A relatively new hotel run by a friendly couple with small kids. The place is squeegy clean without a hint of mold (which is often a problem in high altitude locations in Indonesia), excellent service by diligent, polite and friendly staff who are out to please, really surprisingly good food for in a small to medium sized family-run hotel. We've stayed here twice now (April 2024 and again this month). Last year we suggested that Juma provide kayaks, and they were responsive to that idea. How they have a tandem and a single kayak and a paddle board. Though we were tempted the first time to look at other properties just to know what our options were, we don't need to waste our time with that. We believe we'll keep coming back to Juma. And, by the way, the view from the lake's edge across the little bay to the north at sunrise provides perhaps the most chill, relaxing and peaceful stress-relieving experiences we've had after living 30+ years in SE Asia. Absolutely terrific.

A stay with lakeside view and that's about all. There are plenty of cottages along this stretch called Tuk Tuk Siadong. Most of the properties have lake view and some with a swimming pool. The accommodation is spartan and the saving grace is the big room and the view of the water. The staff are a receptionist and a room boy and they double up in providing the other services. Our stay was disturbed by some construction works across the road.

Wonderful place, service absolutely brilliant, extremely clean and comfortable room. All the staff were so lovely and helpful. We had a lovely relaxing time here, thoroughly recommend. Stayed here with my Mother and sister, as traveled to Indonesia for my nephews wedding.

We truly had an amazing time at Juma cottage. The owners are a young couple who will go out of their way to make their guests feel welcome and to facilitate them in their needs. The room are very clean and spacious. There is a biiiig bathroom and hot water. Every room has a balcony or a porch with a small table and seats. So you can sit in front of your room and enjoy the view of the beautiful toba lake (the cottage is adjacent to the lake). They also have a very large and beautiful garden with lots of flowers and plants. And then the food... DELICIOUS! The owner is a experienced hospitality professional and you can taste and see that in everything. We had grilled fish with a lot a side dishes that comes with the main meal and the other day we had fresh water lobster. Just delicious! Nothing less! Juma cottage, thank you so much for the warm welcome and your hospitality 🙏🏼

The hotel is very pretty and well-maintained. The pool overlooking the lake and mountains is magnificent, large, and warm, and the restaurant and breakfast are plentiful and delicious. The staff is very friendly, and the room with a double bed was very large and very clean. The bathroom was also very large and had very hot water. I highly recommend it!
