When I first set foot in DAP Hostel in Turpan, it was with the intention of a two-night stay. Fast forward two weeks later, I was still there, completely captivated by its charm and the unforgettable people I met. Named after a traditional Xinjiang instrument, this hostel doesn’t just offer beds; it provides experiences. The design is impeccable, and it’s clear there’s a deep respect for detail and the environment. But the real magic? It’s in the people. The hostel owner, the volunteers, and every fellow traveler I encountered - they transformed my trip. From acquaintances to close friends in such a short span, it was incredible. Their open-mindedness, their stories, and the warmth they exuded were infectious. I’m thrilled to say that many of those I met at the DAP Hostel are now close friends. The anticipation of reuniting with them is immense. If you ever find yourself in Turpan, and you crave genuine connections, DAP Hostel is the place. As at August 2022, there is daily mucelic acid testing in the park next to the hotel, from 08:20-11:00. Using the Xinjiang health code, I was able to get tested there (as a foreigner) and the results showed up on the app. So, I didn't need to go into a hospital. The hotel is also a short walk away from the museum and a main street with a lot of restaurants that seemed to be popular. Taxis regularly passed in front of the hotel (Didi took a while, in my experience). My room was wide and bright, including the toilet and shower. In fact, the entire hotel feels wide - the lobby, breakfast room, the carpark. The staff were all helpful, even with my poor Chinese and their limited English. The breakfast selection was fair, and everyone seemed to enjoy the food.

The front desk service was very good. When I checked in, the lady at the front desk brought hot tea, which was very heartwarming. She also proactively provided children's slippers and toothbrushes for the children. The processing speed was also very fast. I was very tired after flying, so I thought I would have to wait at the front desk for a long time. Unexpectedly, the efficiency is really very high👍👍. The room is comfortable and clean, the soundproofing is good, and the breakfast is also very good. My little robot daughter likes it very much. It is worth staying here next time. Ps: Thank you to the lobby manager for the hand-drawn map and introducing me to many scenic spots and planned routes.

The worst hotel experience during the National Day trip to Xinjiang. I checked in on September 29th. The weather was very good that day. It felt hot outdoors in the afternoon. When I checked in at 4 o'clock, the temperature in the room was relatively high. The air conditioner was turned on and it didn't cool down. I called the front desk and asked about arrangements. Someone came to fix it (actually they didn't come), but they didn't tell the hotel that the air conditioner was no longer available. When I passed by the hotel lobby at night, I heard that many people in the tour group were complaining about the heat, so the hotel said that the air conditioner had been suspended and would be turned on again immediately. Then the room temperature became more comfortable after the air conditioning was restored on the first day. Early the next morning, I found that the air conditioner was no longer available. At 7 a.m., the indoor temperature was 34 degrees (as shown in the picture). I asked the front desk to tell them that the air conditioner had stopped again. Considering that the room would be hotter during the day and frequent communication would be troublesome, I chose to check out early. Change the room to a hotel. The price of the hotel I changed to was half that of Kas. It had 24-hour air conditioning and the room was very clean and quiet. In summary, Cass is not cost-effective. Turpan has a large temperature difference between day and night in September and October. Please be careful when choosing a hotel that does not provide air conditioning. However, I would like to commend the hotel front desk for its good service attitude. I am very satisfied with the consultation answers and early check-out handling. I would also like to give special praise to Ctrip. Assisted with early check-out and recommended new hotels to me. The service was timely and the attitude was good. I recommend Ctrip!

Objective evaluation: Good: The environment in the courtyard is good, there are vines, square tables, pools, early arrivals can indeed cool chat, and breakfast the next day is very pleasant, children can run in the yard. Improvements: 1. It’s hard to find. In the alley, you can’t park. If you have better technology, you can drive in the door and put down your luggage and then drive out to park on the road outside (the boss told us initially) 2. The boss treats us differently! Our family of four arrived late, a lot of luggage, no help, no initiative to let us park the car nearby, but let another young couple/couple who arrived later than us parked at the door... Although in the end, I had to persuade the late ones to stop outside because I was found to be treated differently, but this kind of service... It is difficult to understand... Watching the proprietress is a expectant mother, I don’t want to theory anything. 3. Breakfast is said in the past, but looking at our family of four, there is a child under 6 years old who said that he needs to add breakfast money (we set three breakfasts), 10 yuan is not much, saying that there is no problem with adding money, that is, compared to other places 6～ Children under 12 years old have a free experience. After all, I can't eat much, forget it, simply don't. All in all, this housing experience is very general. The price can be very good, so the overall price is not high! 🤩🤩🤩 This newly opened hotel simply amazed me! Their service attitude is top-notch, and every staff member is warm and friendly, making me feel like I am at home. 🛏🛏🛏 The cleanliness of the room was also impeccable, there was no odor at all, and the bed was as soft as a cloud, allowing me to have a good night's sleep and enjoy maximum comfort. 🍳🍳🍳 The breakfast is even more amazing, with rich varieties and delicious taste, which brought a feast to my taste buds. 🙌🙌🙌 I will definitely choose to stay here again next time I have the opportunity, and I highly recommend it to everyone! Easily one of the top two or three guesthouse experiences I’ve had traveling China over the past decade. While it’s certainly on the higher end of the price spectrum, you definitely get what you pay for and more. The level of detail is immaculate: given how hot and dry Turpan is, they give you as much bottled water you need & leave hydrating facial masks in your room every day. Also, shoutout to the beds—one of the most comfortable beds I’ve ever slept on in China—and Japanese toilet. The facilitates and service touches are on par with the best luxury hotel brands which probably go for twice the price or more. But ultimately the people and location are what make this place special. Everyone from the owner to the cleaning staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. I ran into the owner at a restaurant and he bought me dinner and introduced me to some local dishes I would have never known to order. The location is 🍇 valley. It’s a quaint little grape producing village with friendly locals and amazing fruit. All in all, Bafeng Retreat is a special place that is perfect if you’re looking for somewhere to unwind and take life slowly. Highly recommended.

It feels like a hotel with Xinjiang characteristics. It’s so big. Even though it’s winter, the scenery is pretty good. I’ll come again in summer. I got a free tour of the wine cellar and a tour around the hotel. The room facilities are also very complete. It’s really This is the most satisfying hotel I have ever stayed in Xinjiang.
