Tyenna River Cottages

This was the funniest accommodation we stayed in during our month-long road trip across Australia. So much to complain about: First, this was actually a room from ***********, which Ctrip was selling on their behalf. After Ctrip confirmed the booking, *********** sent an email, but it was to a strange email address. Second, when we tried navigating the address Ctrip had given us, we couldn't find it. We asked a construction worker, who showed us the way. We drove to the yard of the house, and there was no sign. A woman came out, asked us who we were, and said, "The house isn't here. Check your email." We told her we hadn't received any other emails, just a booking confirmation from China. Then she said, "You're lucky I'm not usually here. Where would you have found me?" Third, she finally said the house was nearby and would take us there. We ended up driving for over ten minutes on a dirt road, as shown in Figures 1 and 2. Just like in rural China, there were no road signs and no idea where we were. Finally, we arrived at the house. Later, I checked Google Navigation, and from the time we finally found the address listed on Ctrip to the address we arrived at, it was over three kilometers of rural road, as shown in Figure 3. How could an outsider like us find it on our own? Furthermore, the address wasn't even the one listed on Ctrip. I took a photo of the house number, as shown in Figure 4. It was 134. Ctrip, are you selling mutton or are you just trying to trick me? This is my second trip to Australia. I've been to the US many times, staying in various hotels and B&Bs, and also in Canada. I received a code via email to retrieve my key. The key is, first, I didn't receive the email. Second, even if I did receive the code, how would I find the house? My English is good enough to have a conversation in the three English-speaking countries mentioned above, so it's not too bad. But I just couldn't find this house. I advise everyone, even if you're good at English, finding this house without the correct address will be difficult, so think twice before booking. The Ctrip review doesn't reflect my actual feedback, so I gave it a low score. The interior of the house is nice, but if you can't find the right spot, you won't be able to enjoy it. Therefore, I recommend driving five minutes west to Medina, where there are many accommodation options.
