Hotel Kalpana Palace

The hotel ***agement was pathetic. Since I did the wrong date booking with mmt application and requested ***agement to cancel it or prepone it . I was ready to pay the balance . It shows the ***agement doest care about guests .not recommended!

The location of Kalpana Palace is perfect. At walking distance from both the railway station and the corridor - it is very accessible - but so are ***y other properties. All of the Mahakaal lok is surrounded by hotels. Having said that - the hotel did have a good service - the breakfast was good. Rooms were clean and nice. Hot water was available. Staff was polite and courteous. We requested for an early check in and they said if rooms are available, they will make it available early - and they did. Do check the timings and the price. Year end times, the price is too much and we felt it was not value for money. At other times (and lower rates), it shd be fine. The traffic outside does make the rooms noisy.

One of the best hotel. Mahakaal temple is just walking distance from the hotel. Rooms are neat and tidy with all amenities- Geyser, AC, TV. The hotel also has lift facility. Staff is polite and efficient. It is located on the main road so you can easily get transport to visit other temples- Kaal Bhairav Temple, Harsiddhi Mata ***dir, Gadhkalika Mata ***dir... Very Clean and Comfortable place to stay right opp. to the temple and entry to Mahakaleshwar corridor. The break fast option is decent and serves the purpose. Room service is pretty quick and not expensive. The food is sourced from nearby restaurant and priced at the same rate I guess. Recommend this hotel , we stayed for 2 nights. I would encourage people to explore outside options for local temple visits. You will get Autos for around 500/- takes u to 6 temple, takes about 2 - 2.5 hrs.

the hotel is owned by and in Muslim dominated area , doesn't feel safe and not comfortable when you are there for pilgrimage for mahakaleshwar darshan. The price charged vs facility provided is also not upto mark for eg no dental kit, poor quality shower gel and towels also were not clean. The proximity to mahakaleshwar is the only positive point but there are number of options available nearby in better locations

We booked two rooms online for a day. From the outside, the hotel didn’t look that great. However the service was very good. Rooms and Bathrooms were clean. There was hot water round the clock. To go around Ujjain, the hotel provided a cab for a reasonable price. The driver was friendly and trustworthy. Next day he took us to Omkareshwar and dropped us off at Indore. The hotel also arranged for an auto rickshaw to take me to the Mahakal temple at 1AM to stand in the line for bhasma aarti. The hotel doesn’t have its own restaurant. However they served food from a nearby place and it was ok. I will recommend this place to anyone.

The place ranks high for cleanliness, proximity to mahakal temple and services provided. They even served tea at 2am. Only con is the smell outside in the vicinity of the hotel.But that is a small disadvantage. Would definitely recommend this place if someone wants to stay near the temple
