A fabulous small hotel on a lovely island: a great introduction to Maldevian life for us. Access by speedboat from Male Airport is straightforward, although strong winds made the crossing rough in the 17 seater Coral Speed Boat: better to travel in the 60 seater, although I think that they decide which boats are used each day. Sheena met us off the boat at Ukulhas and it was a short buggy ride to Sea La Vie. A lovely entrance way leads to an informal reception area where a welcome coconut drink was gratefully received. We were in room 104; a good size with a large bed and a decent en suite. Two open racks serve as adequate wardrobe space, good for hanging not-quite-dry-yet beach wear, although outside drying rails proved very useful for this as well. Limited shelf space and no drawers meant other clothes enjoyed an "al fresco" few days! We were on a B&B basis and we opted for the Maldivian breakfast every day. Very nice tuna (spicy or not spicy ; your choice) with roshi, plus fruit and a fruit drink. It is best to order black tea and a separate serving of cold mild if you want English breakfast tea. The hotel is ideally placed towards the south east coast, with easy access to Bikini Beach, which wraps around the southern end of the island. The beach is excellent and the snorkeling even better. The western side generally provides calmer waters with easy access to the sea. A sandy start leads to 1m to 2m deep rocky areas, before the reef edge appears around 40m from the shore. The numbers and variety of fish are spectacular, and we also saw three different types of eel along with regular glimpses of small sharks. The southern tip of the island has the most impressive beach but the stronger currents make swimming and snorkeling less appealing. The eastern side generally has larger waves and a deeper sea leading up to the reef. Fish are equally abundant on both sides of the island. Fazeel at the hotel organised an early morning (7am) manta ray trip. Just the two of us on a small boat with two crew members for $130. We were lucky to snorkel with a large manta ray, with three close encounters before it got bored of us and swam away. Sitings are not guaranteed and so we were quite fortunate. Fazeel was also extremely helpful in organising a private speedboat to take us south to our next island (Fenfushi), but the weather again proved too windy and rough and he later cancelled this and arranged seats at the last minute on the usual 65 seater speedboat back to Male. We made our way from there on another large speedboat to Fenfushi. Ukulhas is a vibrant local island which is rapidly becoming more touristy. On the plus side, there are already 20 or more restaurants to choose from. The four that we ate at all provided good, simple meals and we generally chose grilled reef fish which can be ordered in differing sizes according to hunger levels! On the negative side, there is a lot of construction work ongoing, but most of it is to the north, away fr

Our stay in Sea la Vie exceeded our expectations! The place is very well decorated from the inside out, the rooms are spacious and sparkling clean and the staff is very friendly, efficient and always willing to help you with anything you need with a big smile☺️. Breakfast is delicious (try the maldivian options!), not to mention the coffee, the best in town! The location is perfect, just minutes walking from the beach, you can go to the east or west beach to watch the sunrise or sunset🌞, both are just a couple of minutes walking. I totally recommend this Sea la Vie if you want your vacation in Maldives to be unforgettable. Hope to come back soon!☺️

I love this place! We were well taken care of by Fazeel and staff, always willing to help you with anything you need. The manager, was very quick to respond to our email questions before we arrived to the Maldives. They made our lives easier. There is a beautiful garden with swings and hammocks so you can read or just relax in a peacful manner. The rooms are big, and clean. The breakfast was delicious. Make sure to choose the maldivian dishes! We took tours via the hotel and met a fantastic guide who made our trips memorable with snorkling, shark feeding, whale watching etc. We miss you Shakeeb and your bubbly personality, cant wait to see you again =) ! It was very easy and convinient to book the trips. You basically just tell the hotel the day before. They provide you with a list of tours. I went with my husband for about 8 nights in the beginning of November. Its was hard to leave this place, it started to feel like a second home. Lovely experience and I have recommended this hotel to friends and family!

An absolutely dreamlike island. This was our third time here, and once again we were completely thrilled. The island is a dream. Peaceful, with a beautiful (house) reef right off the beach (only 10 meters away), allowing you to explore the enchanting, colorful fish, turtles, and reef sharks while snorkeling. The only downside is the construction of three hotels, which has somewhat diminished the island's original charm. We hope that Ukulhas doesn't succumb to tourism. Fazeel and his staff are incredibly helpful and friendly. The accommodation is spotlessly clean and still quite affordable. We wholeheartedly recommend Sea La Vie! Thank you again for the wonderful vacation! We hope that Ukulhas will not be ruined by tourism. Fazeel and his staff are incredibly helpful and friendly. Just a fabulous holiday on Ukulas! The girls met us at the pier, drove us, helped with our luggage, and treated us to coconuts. The room was also pleasant: spacious, clean, with all amenities. There is a foot wash in front of the room to avoid dragging sand inside. Breakfast to choose from menu. Lunch and dinner at a restaurant nearby in buffet mode. The beach is within walking distance. Clear, rich underwater world off a coral reef near the shore. In general, not a vacation, but some kind of fairy tale!!!

10 days in this small charming "hotel" where all the staff take great care whether with adults or children... the place is nice, relaxing, feet in the sand... small swings available to relax relax like fins and masks for snorkeling. (a bar with small cocktails would be a little extra but really from my point of view;) as for the catering: the breakfast is really good with a wide choice, on the other hand the restaurant which is a little further n it's not great... it's too often the same, if not every day (I recommend half board) but I recommend this place which manages everything for your well-being, even our excursions we did with them and it was great!
