II kept on extending stay here and I stayed more than a week here. Staffs are amazing people, very helpful and professional, and most importantly, well mannered. I did not see a single bug during my entire stay, which is very good, especially considering the building is very old and the area has many cockroaches outside.

The room was very small and the bathroom was tiny. They didn't clean the room daily.

Accommodation was comfortable, and a basic breakfast was a thoughtful touch.

I get an interesting room at the Val hotel,it’s at the top floor with an inclined ceiling,my room is big enough for single.staffs are kindly and their coffee is amazing ,of course not free,haha.by the way,except for their simple breakfast,only accompanied with bread and cereal.

When I first arrived at the hotel that morning and found out my room wasn’t ready yet, you and your male colleague (whose name I unfortunately forgot to ask) kindly provided me with a Sydney map and took the time to introduce some wonderful local sights and food options. I truly appreciated your friendliness and thoughtfulness—it made a great first impression and helped me feel at ease in a new city. Later that day, after returning from lunch to check in, I discovered that I had lost my passport. I was in a state of panic, but you comforted me and patiently helped contact the taxi driver and Sydney Airport, even though it was a Sunday and the airport office couldn’t be reached. What touched me most was that you didn’t stop there—you continued to help me follow up the next day, and thanks to your persistence and kindness, I was finally able to retrieve my passport from the airport. I was so relieved and overjoyed, and I truly wish I had the chance to thank you in person before I checked out. Unfortunately, you weren’t working that day—but please know how much your support meant to me. You went above and beyond, and I will always remember your compassion and patience. I would also like to compliment the hotel itself—the room was very spacious and clean, the facilities were excellent, and the value for money was outstanding. The included breakfast was a lovely bonus too. I highly recommend Vulcan Hotel to anyone visiting Sydney! Thank you again for everything. I hope to stay with you again in the future. Warmest regards

Decent hotel, comfy bed and clean room. no complaints at all.

Staff were very pleasant and helpful. Very good location. Excellent aircon and very large bathroom. Great for female traveller for sure.

Very friendly and informative front desk, met the owner and very pleasant as well. Room was small especially the bathroom. Breakfast was minimal and room smelt a bit funky.

Nice little hotel. Not far from Paddy's Market at the top of town. Breakfast was just fine. Barista Coffee was very good. The staff was nice and friendly. Clean and tidy, but probably due for a lick of paint. Recommended.

It's a good hotel for family and people who want near darling harbour but in cheaper price.

Great price and location close to Haymarket and Darling Harbour area. Easy walking distance took us less then 10mins to Chinatown. Hotel was beautifully appointed, bed very comfy and clean. Breakfast included scrambled eggs, bacon, baked beans, toast, cereal, fruit, yoghurt and pastries. OJ, Tea and instant coffee. Perfect! Parking was a 1 minute walk away and $25 for 24 hours over the weekend with plenty of spaces available - not sure if its more on weekdays. Would definitely book again.

Perfect choice for an hotel in Sydney. As for price is a very good deal considering the average in the city. They have an agreement with a near parking lot (no need to book for that).
