Atour Hotel at the People's Cinema in Urumqi International Grand Bazaar

On the day of check-in, the hotel called me around noon to say that the air conditioning in the king room I booked was broken and they would give me a twin room instead. I told them that wasn't acceptable; if my king room was unavailable, they should still provide a king room. They then said I'd have to pay extra to get a twin room, and then they'd upgrade me to a higher-category king room for free. My reaction: ????? It's your problem that the AC is broken, not mine. I don't want to stay in your 'fancy' king room if it means paying extra. I just want the king room I booked. What kind of logic is that? Parking is also incredibly difficult. The hotel is on one side of a roundabout, so you only have 3-5 minutes to unload luggage before you have to go find parking elsewhere. They said they'd reimburse for parking within 2 kilometers, but finding a spot is really hard, and many nearby parking lots are full. The overall experience was really subpar.

The room is nice and located in the old city, definitely recommended. It's about 2 kilometers to the International Bazaar, and there are a few temples nearby that you can walk to. If you don't feel like walking, it's also convenient to take a taxi.

The front desk staff were incredibly friendly and even gave us a free room upgrade, which my child absolutely loved. Breakfast was also great. A special shout-out to the lady at the restaurant on the morning of October 2nd – she could even converse in English, which was very impressive! The only downside is that there's no parking directly in front of the hotel; you have to park next door, about 30-40 meters away, but the hotel reimburses the parking fee. They also recommended some great nearby restaurants, though unfortunately, I didn't take any photos.

This hotel was absolutely the right choice for my business trip to Urumqi! It's located in the city center, Tian山区, right near Beimen subway station, which made getting around and finding food super convenient. The room's cleanliness was top-notch, the desk was spacious, and the internet was stable, so I had no trouble at all working late. The bedding was comfortable and the soundproofing was excellent, ensuring a great night's sleep. As expected from Atour, the amenities were all there: the Zhuju (bamboo house) bookstore, self-service laundry and drying room – everything a business traveler needs. The front desk staff were efficient and thoughtful during check-in, and they even offered warm congee late at night. It's those little details that really stand out. I'd highly recommend this hotel whether you're on a business trip or a short vacation. I'll definitely be staying here again next time I'm in Urumqi!

We booked two rooms this time, and to save money, we opted out of breakfast. A special thank you to Xiao Nu at the front desk, who arranged our rooms perfectly in advance and even kindly offered complimentary breakfast, which was a wonderful surprise. Xiao Nu's service was warm and friendly, and she was meticulous and thoughtful in her work. Communication was smooth throughout, and we could feel her dedication in every detail. The check-in experience was excellent; such warm service is truly rare. She deserves special commendation, and we will definitely choose to stay here again next time!

The location is absolutely amazing! Prime spot! There are all sorts of eateries downstairs, super convenient! The hotel service was also fantastic. I stayed for two nights, and on the second night, I was in a 'Jimu' room type, which required a room change. The front desk specifically arranged for me to be on the same floor. After breakfast, they even personally brought the new key card up to me! Luckily, this 'Jimu' room happened to be on the corner and turned out to be a suite! What a pleasant surprise! It really set a wonderful tone for my Xinjiang trip!

This Atour Hotel has an excellent location. Although it's in the heart of the central business district, it's relatively quiet. Shopping and dining are both very convenient. All the staff are warm, hospitable, and polite. Miss Fina, who checked me in, was kind and even upgraded my room type. Thumbs up! 👍🏻

The twin room was quite spacious. They also offered free congee in the evenings, which was a nice touch. Overall, it was pretty good.
