Travelodge Stansted Great Dunmow

We stayed here after a late arrival at Stansted and it was the cheapest option. Its a a bit of a trek to and from the airport. As we were tired after our late flight we opted for an Uber which cost £28 (it was after midnight and the hotel is a 7 mile dive away) To return to the airport the next day we took the X10 Airlink bus which stops close to outside the hotel itself, (just outside the petrol station). It cost £3 each and took about half an hour. The hotel is an older one but it’s in quite good shape. The staff we encountered were all great. Friendly and helpful. The bedroom, we had 232 on the top floor, was nicely decorated, well organized and the bed itself was very comfortable. We sleep very well. Be aware that there are no USB charging sockets in the room. We used the one on the back of the TV to charge a phone. We opted for breakfast, and that was great. It’s an all you can eat buffet including cereals, breads, pastries, pancakes plus Bacon, scrambled eggs, sausages, mushrooms and hash browns. Even the coffee was delicious. Our only niggle was that the bathroom could have done with a deep clean. It wasn’t filthy by any standards, but the bath taps and grab rails were dirty and had finger marks all over them and there were dirty marks on the tilled walls. All in all though a very comfortable stay. Just not quite as convenient as we had thought. We would definitely stay again if we needed a local stopover.

The staff went up and beyond expectations and way beyond their responsibilities. I inadvertainly left something of value when leaving and the staff not only managed to get this to me but understood what I was going through at the time. One my phone call with them they were empathetic and addressed the issue with understanding and sympathy.

Food and drinks were lovely. Food was hot and quick to be served. Staff very friendly. Told us all we ask to know when we arrived. Laura and medina was so helpful. Overall very pleasant stay. Idea for early Morning start. Will definitely do this stay again.

No sockets near bad No USB sockets Window barely opened ( Thank you smokers) The room was very hot TV was complete farce, HAVE TO PAY FOR WIFI

Michelle and Laura were both amazing at check it. We travelled over 3 hours to get here, so we had quite a hyper 4 year old on our hands. They were happy to chat with him and they didn't mind a little run around, whils the adults had a well deserved drink after a long drive!

Fantastic Staff and ideal to rest before flying from Stansted airport. Really recommend, clean and comfy rooms. Plenty of parking spaces and nice food, special mention of great attention to Mr. Medina, always very kind and helpful. Good value Hotel
