Hotel Altitude

It’s a well located hotel IF you don’t need to get kids to ski school. If you do then you’ll find yourself on the complete opposite side of where you need to be. The staff are fine but I’d put the hotel down as more of a two star. The view is spectacular from the upper levels. We stayed on the third floor in a family room. The carpet had a musty smell, the sink leaked from the tap every single time you used it soaking anything left next to the sink. Lots of bits of mould in the water. It fairly desperately needs a refurb. The most difficult bit was the complete lack of appropriate lighting which seems petty but it was truly too dark to find your gear. We ended up using head torches when hunting through drawers. The mattresses were fairly shocking and the pillows win for worst I’ve ever seen in a hotel. They felt like they just had a few balls of cotton wool shoved in. If you have any kind of back/neck problems this wouldn’t be your best choice The food was good but beware you need to book well in advance and it’s a set menu. The Italian pizza place a block away was very good. If you are experienced skiers who don’t have children in tow with robust backs and low expectations of facilities this could work as a reasonably priced place to stay.

Excellent small hotel right at the main slopes of the resort, with two gondolas and two chairlifts within walking/skiing distance. Friendly and helpful staff. Smallish rooms, though, with extra-firm mattresses. Some would be ok with it, others would probably hate it. Very good breakfast at the hotel's restaurant. If your deal doesn't include dinner at the hotel, and you want it, be sure to reserve it well in advance, before even arriving. Although, the dinner is a prix-fixe only with an appetizer, main dish, and a desert for 45 euro.

We were blown away by the personal service from all the staff at Hotel Altitude. This is a 5 star service in a 3 star hotel. (How it's not more than 3 stars I don't know) The hotel is charming, and it excels with the personal service and the fantastic food. We had better meals at Hotel Altitude than the Hilton in Geneva ! Well done Nicolas and team, you are incredible. This is truly a hidden diamond in Val d'Isère. We will definitely be back next year... can't wait to return !

Everything is fine, but this is not a very friendly place. There is not enough staff, spa and sauna were closed bc of Covid without a single excuse or warning on the website, and the room was very old. Average breakfast despite wonderful staff. Location for skiers is perfect. Old room, very old carpet.

I love this hotel and have visited several times. The staff are so friendly, the location cannot be bettered and the new chef is astounding. We ate like kings! Had a gorgeous week with fresh snow falling before we arrived and sunshine every day. Can't wait to go back.

as usual we very happy with our stay. Family environment, gentle service.... nicely located hotel near the slopes, easy access, parking nearby, ... all you need for you stay in Val d'Isère ! looking forward to our stay next year 2025, before renovations.

My wife and I have been loyal guest of Hotel Altitude for more than fourty years. The Hotel staff members offer consistent high level service, hospitality and great “cuisine”. They are flexible, helpful and supportive. All together a good reason to rerurn next winter.

The hotels location is superb, truly ski in-ski-out, one minute away from the Olympic Gondola, and same for the Solaise gondola. The main high street is a very pleasant stroll away. Breakfast was excellent, as was our room. The staff in the hotel could not have done more to make our stay more enjoyable, and the owner, Nicolas, could not have been a better host. I would thoroughly recommend the Hotel Altitude, and hope we can return next year . Thank you Nicolas, Jonny

Hotel Altitudes has a perfect location to enjoy your ski and have a nice apres ski at Val d'Isere. Very charming rooms, perfect breakfast. People at eh hotel were very helpful nad nice. Fully recomended
