It’s a bit of a hike from the town - although a short cab journey - but I wouldn’t stay anywhere else if I visited again. I had planned to stay three nights at Forte de Sao Francisco, but was so disappointed with it, I ended up switching here. And it was a gamble that paid off. Gorgeous, huge room - modern and clean, with a properly stocked minibar, spectacular bathroom, spacious balcony and beautiful views. I had a room at the back overlooking the mountains, which was wonderful in daylight but a bit lost in the dark. If you want an interesting nighttime vista, probably best to stay in a room at the front with views of the city in the distance – at least you’d get some twinkling lights. Two fabulous pools, good breakfast and just the loveliest staff. And set in expansive, picturesque grounds that could surely be turned into a golf course – much needed in these parts and bound to attract more guests. Overall, a great escape!

Currently staying for 2 nights for my birthday weekend. Hotel is super modern. Some signs and wear and tear. Very clean and staff nice. House staff really friendly. Had dinner last evening in-house resturant. Wasn't blown away, quality let it down. Waitress didn't take the order correctly. But that was a good thing. For quality of food it was expensive at €76 for 2 people, and the steak was so tough. Very bad. Chaves itself is super pretty. Would stay at hotel again but not use in-house resturant for more than breakfast.

The hotel was excellent. The staff were professional and friendly. The room was great and the bed was very comfortable. The pool area is nice and plenty of sun beds. I used the spa and Sonia was a fantastic masseuse. The food in the hotel really tasty - dinner and breakfast. The only reason I didn’t give this a five rating was that the balcony floor in our room is dangerous. The spacing in the decking is too wide and the chair I was on fell though the gap - giving me a nasty bruise. The hotel staff responded very quickly to repair the floor but not interested in my well being

Arrived here today as we had little charger left on our electric car. Staff were so helpful ash’s let us charge card to get to next super charger. We stopped for about 2 hours and ate dinner, again lovely friendly staff and great prices for food. Beautiful setting look out over hills.

Excellent conditions and comfort, important details that a hotel of this category requires were missing. 1. Toilet with hygiene tape placed without being properly cleaned. 2. I had a burger at the bar that gave me diarrhea the next day, I'm not 100% sure it was the burger, obviously, but I believe it was because I didn't eat any meat or fish that day. Other than that, everything was impeccable 👌

A 4* hotel that I could quickly say that it looks like 5, as it was deserved, at least for my very positive stay. A hotel located in a quiet location with plenty of parking, being a quality, modern and appealing place. The rooms are modern and comfortable, the only thing lacking is a ceiling light, and the furniture is not enough, in my opinion. It had a good bed, TV channels, a modern bathroom with a bathtub, basically, everything was excellent. In the hotel itself, there is a very good gym for a hotel, a very large swimming pool, but classes for children make leisure time less enjoyable, due to the noise. Finally, the hotel itself is very pleasant with minimalist details, but it is modern and functional, where breakfast is also a positive variable given the diversity and freshness of the food.

The location, the decoration of many lounges is magnificent. The rooms are very large and the bathrooms very well equipped. we had a room on the parking side but which had a very nice side at night with the lights of the city in the distance. We enjoyed the two swimming pool areas which are nice sizes with jacuzzi sauna and hammam. The restaurant is very nice with a themed buffet every other evening and for lunch you will find a menu with a wide choice. the white tablecloth breakfast room is chic with a superb buffet. A large parking lot is at your disposal. We will come back with great pleasure.

The hotel had a very beautiful Christmas decoration, very attentive staff at reception, spacious room with a beautiful view, this being the 3rd time I have visited the hotel, I cannot help but highlight several negative points since my last visit, the spa is very dilapidated, the Turkish bath doesn't work, the indoor pool has some small tiles removed, swimming lessons are running for children in the indoor pool, which is annoying for guests who go there to rest. The mattresses are terrible. For a 4-star hotel, these aspects should be improved.

Hotel that we visit whenever we can due to its quality, cleanliness, conditions and surrounding spaces. Both city and lake views are extraordinary. Very friendly and accessible staff. Very good breakfast with everything essential.

Excellent stay...TOP hotel...from the room...huge with a beautiful view, super comfortable bed, good sized heated pool, excellent jacuzzi as well as the sauna and Turkish bath, I recommend it for a recharge of energy, a very pleasant dinner (cod with cornbread and 5-star veal)... then for those who like a good bet... we have the casino where we can spend the rest of the night... conclusion... weekend to repeat again.

It was good... many negative points for a hotel supposedly of this level. 1) faulty elevators, which greatly restrict access to the pool, just 1 with the capacity this Easter weekend is not enough. 2) faulty spa 3) bath water inconsistent in pressure and temperature 4) very dirty outdoor pool 5) spa bathrobes and towels, old and torn 6) pool loungers, half of them have problems 7) Pool bar staff, disorganized it's rude. 8) WC in the pool without paper and with broken air dryers 9) The 3 bottles of water in my mini bar, (Room 208), were open, they had been filled with tap water. They should check this situation.

We have traveled with a Celiac child, they have made it difficult for him (thankfully our son eats everything), but even the ignorance about Celiac disease that they have taken from the kitchen 1 loaf taken out of the microwave without its packaging...there I leave

The hotel is very modern and is in a quiet location just outside of Chaves. Parking is free and the overall impression is good. The rooms are a bit warm (unfortunately air conditioning only works with a room card, with an outside temperature of 45°C) the air conditioning needed 2 days to cool the room temperature down to 22°. The rooms are modern but a bit older, the best part is really the infinity pool with a view of Chaves. The breakfast was the worst of the whole trip, you have to get your own cutlery, the selection is OK, nothing special, juice is much too sweet, OK for 2 nights, you get full. We ate in the hotel one evening, OK but not exceptional here either, it's better to drive 15 minutes into the town of Chaves and eat there. Prices are a bit higher but not overly expensive.
