We couldn't decide whether to rent an apartment near Oceanografic like we did last time, or closer to the old town. We decided on the old town and I'm very pleased to report that it was a great choice. We were initially worried about parking but once I'd found that Apartamentos Turia had the option of parking and that it was available, that sealed the deal. Communication via whatsapp was quick and informative. We arrived after 4 and check was the usual Spanish paperwork heavy ritual but completed swiftly and with the minimum of fuss. We also purchased tickets at reception for the tourist bus which had a stop less than 10 mins walk away and took you to all the places you'd need with the ability to hop on and off all day. The car stayed in the garage. As there were 7 of us we had to make two trips up in the lift to the amusement of the kids. Bit of a pain going out as 4 floors of steps didn't suit my knees but no problem for the healthier members or the group. After a bit of a struggle with the front door key we were pleased to find how spacious the apartment was. 5 bedrooms, 2 with 2 single beds, 1 with 3 singles and a double room. Best of all, there were 2 full bathrooms, or more correctly, shower rooms, which if you have 3 daughters like me, you'll understand the added value. Great size smart TV in the lounge and a dining table with enough chairs for all 7 of us. A real rarity in rental world. Two large comfy sofas completed the suitability for large groups. The kitchen was large enough for our needs and had a dishwasher and washing machine for longer stayers. Had to ask reception for a kettle. Obviously a Brit thing for our tea but at least it was available. Still gets a bit chilly in the evenings in April so the inclusion of air con heating was great and it warmed the apartment up quickly. Some of the group moaned that the pillows, which I think may have been memory foam, were too hard but this is a very small criticism. The double bed was comfy. There are a couple of supermarkets within 10 minutes, a great coffee shopl that serves ice cream and we also found a fantastic taco shop that sells great fresh food within 15 minutes. Just eat and glovo are available locally too. Great price, great location, plenty of room and friendly staff all made for a great couple of days in Valencia to celebrate my youngest's 18th birthday.
