Totally beyond my expectation!! From the smiley face welcoming us when we first walked in to the home made turndown macarons to the breakfast (the chef even peeled the tomato skin!); everything impressed me. We stayed two nights in the Casa and it is my first time staying in the Valetta. The hotel focuses on service details!!
Superb location - 10 to 15 mins walk to the bus terminal/ upper and lower Barrakka garden/ the ferry pier with easy access to bars, restaurants, and shops. The building itself is historical and we love the design of the room. The big in-room safe provides extra secure.
But what I love the most is the team. Everyone at the reception and during breakfast service has been super amazing. Special thanks to Peter who performed the room orientation upon check-in, Matthew who assisted me with luggage and escorted me to the uber pick up point upon departure, the pretty lady Sladjana with a big smile and endless jokes that made my day, and Renniel who helped fix the issue of the basin stopper.
Highly recommend Casa Ellul to everyone. Dont miss the wonderful breakfast in the morning!

The service is first-class, especially the little brother at the front desk. The location is also very good, very convenient. The decoration of the hotel is relatively retro, very beautiful, and the breakfast is delicious.
But the hotel has been in disrepair for a long time, the bathtubs are broken, very depressing, and the sound insulation effect is extremely poor... To be honest, if the service is not good, I will really feel heartbroken.

The hotel was absolutely lovely and the staff were outstanding. Bouquets all round ! Many thanks for making our stay so memorable. The staff were friendly helpful and couldn't have done more to make us feel welcome. Breakfast was amazing and the service was prompt and professional. Well done everyone

A great location in central Valleta, walking distance to all attractions and restaurants, yet in a quiet enclave by St Paul’s Church. The hotel occupies a former city mansion and public areas are elegant in a contemporary style. From arrival to departure all staff are warm and professional. We had a problem with mosquitos in our room and they very efficiently helped us by installing various repellents. Our room in the roof extension was a little small and would have benefitted from better storage but the attractive terrace would be a great extension to the room in warmer weather. We loved being in the shadow of the huge cupola of the Carmelite church across the street!

This hotel is simply a gem in the heart of Valetta run by Matthew Ullul and his amazing international experienced and kind staff, including Sabrina from Argentina, Rose from the Philippines, Peter from Austria, and many others. The rooms are spacious and quiet. The service is impeccable. The restaurant Risette with its chef Steve Scicluna is quite something else. We ate there twice as the food was exceptional with many dishes reaching Michel star level, even though Risette does not even have a recommendation in the Michelin Guide, let alone a star. Well, it was our gain! Risette has an interesting wine list and a very varied, original menu, predominantly with French influences, but not overly heavy, and serious value for money. We will be back in Malta this year, if only to stay and eat at casa Ullul and Risette!!

Fantastic stay, great service and lots of attention to detail. We took suite 8 and it was very well prepared, clean and comfortable. The terrace was well worth the price especially for breakfast in the morning. Overall a great stay with very caring and thoughtful staff too!

Great small hotel with just a few rooms, all furnished in a special and modern way, which is an exciting contrast to the old building. The most striking element is certainly the terrace of two suites with a view of the dome of the church opposite, which seems to tower just an arm's length away, incredibly impressive. The only negative is that the furniture and cussions on the roof top terrace could not be used since they were wet and mouldy and had pigeon dirt. The first two nights we stayed in suite 5 and all rooms except for the 2 rooftop suites are way too loud due to the noise and accoustic on the street and the windows which do not close.

Wonderful boutique hotel with an outstanding restaurant. Comfortable, well-appointed room and superb staff. Ideal location, in the heart of old Valletta, surrounded by bars, restaurants, shops and all amenities. Breakfasts were ideal fuel for the walking expeditions that took in the best of Malta.
