We stayed for a week in February. Pros: fantastic location for exploring the old city of Valletta; 10 min walk to the bus station for exploring further; heritage building with character; good wifi; good lift; room has fridge, kettle and coffeemaker; room is fairly well lit; breakfast is luxurious; staff are fantastic, so welcoming and friendly, and helpful and really make you feel like a 5* guest. Cons: street noise and loud music from the cafes in front of the hotel until late, loud enough that can't hear TV or talk easily without shutting the doors to the balcony which then cuts off all natural light, and even then noise still intrusive, ear plugs are a must for sleep and it meant the room wasn't great for relaxing in. Rooms have a designer styling which just doesn't work well: apart from two tiny drawers, a bit of hanging space and two open shelves there is nowhere to unpack your clothes into; digital light control panels either didn't work or only by persistent pressing; confusing aircon has no instructions and although we needed it to prevent the room from becoming stuffy with the balcony door shut for the noise, it made a cold draft on sleepers; open shower always flooded the floor no matter how careful we tried to be; television also erratic in response to controls and only has news in English plus one game show channel (no films).
