The Guesthouse Vancouver Downtown

The location is great, just a 5-minute walk from the station, and there's a bus stop right nearby. The room only provides towels. You can borrow a hairdryer from the front desk. The shared bathroom had shampoo and body soap. In the kitchen area, plates and cups were available for free use, and complimentary tea and coffee were offered. While it might not meet expectations if you're looking for luxury hotel amenities or services, it was a perfectly satisfying stay for a guesthouse.

Great location, very convenient for transport and shopping. It's an old guesthouse that's been renovated, so it has wooden floors. Sound insulation between floors isn't the best, and there's no elevator. The shared bathrooms and kitchen are good. They're currently installing a communal washing machine.

I thought I'd try a hostel with a shared bathroom again. They gave me a room right next to the toilet and shower on the 2nd floor. There was no elevator. From 5:00 AM onwards, the noise from the toilet started. Earplugs didn't even help. The first shower on our floor broke after one night, and the other after the second night. There's no room service, even though they advertised at least daily trash emptying, which never happened. The staff at the entrance are extremely rude. No 'hello' or 'good day' even when you greet them. The toilets, however, were clean. Despite that, I would never return.

Heads up if you're booking this hotel: there's no parking available, and some rooms have shared bathrooms.

The location was fantastic! It was super easy to get to the city center, so we had no trouble finding places to sightsee or eat. There were tons of restaurants and shops nearby, which made getting around during our stay incredibly convenient. On the other hand, there was a gap under our room door, and we could hear some noise from the hallway and the bathroom area. This was especially noticeable at night, so if you're looking for a really quiet stay, you might want to keep that in mind. Overall, the excellent location was a major plus, and I felt it offered decent value for money.
