We have been to Tainos numerous times, this year we decided to get married there, after dreaming of a beach wedding in the Caribbean for many years It was the best decision we made Everything was taken care of for us And it was amazing and memorable. Exactly what we wanted. Jania at guest services did an amazing job. She was easy to contact, answered our questions promptly And made sure we got everything we wanted. What keeps us going back is the amazing staff . We love them all ,from the friendly faces that greet you at reception, the dining room staff, Jeni, Beatriz , Melang, The bar staff, yadaisy is the best, we love her so much. Yoslayne, yudel, Juan Carlos, Reisel, The staff at both the Japanese and Cuban restaurants And all the entertainment staff Aliuska with all the dancing lessons on the beach, Elvis for keeping us entertained and all the amazing dancers that entertained us nightly . The resort is clean, the food is good Every night there is something different to eat . We travelled with sunwing as we do every year This year we had a problem with our luggage, it only arrived on our third day . One hour before our wedding Sunwing was prompt with compensation for missing luggage, There is a vip lounge at the airport in Varadero that we took this year, for a fee ,of course. I highly recommend it, It’s air conditioned, they bring you ham and cheese panini , you can drink alcohol, coffee, soft drinks , Clean washroom . We will certainly take it next trip. For us Iberostar Tainos is the only place for us and we cannot wait for our next trip ,

We were a bit worried about staying longer than our usual week South but it was just great! Huge Thank You to ALL the amazing staff, sorry some names we didn't get. Check in was late evening, very efficient and friendly. Door man was there right away to assist us to our Bungalow and up the stairs with all our heavy baggage. The air conditioner worked in the bedroom but not so much in the living room, we just kept the door shut. Room was always clean and stocked with water in the fridge(no alcohol but there is plenty everywhere at the bars :) safe is not included in the room but is functioning properly. Towels were replenished as needed and we did not need every day just like at home. Room cleaners always very friendly and they sure like to dance and have fun, especially with the foam party on the beach. Great Team Spirit! Beach towels in the room and exchanged daily at the hut by the beach. Yisel (crazy hair) is a beautiful young lady in the lobby bar who makes everything with love. Even when she is crazy busy she manages a smile and a song. Excellent Spanish Coffee. I would say she trained with some of the best! Chocolate Martinis are very nice but the bartenders were not all consistent so the strength varied sometimes which was a bit disappointing. I would say follow a simple recipe each time would make it better. Having said that the evening Lobby Bars were very busy, it must be such a hard job with rude, drunk people. We aren't big drinkers so we like quality over quantity. The piano player who was there a few evenings was wonderful. Such talent. We would suggest a bit more attention/staff to clean and stock the lobby toilets during busy evenings but not a deal breaker. The outdoor theater was being renovated but the team did a great job using the outdoor courtyard. Some beautiful dancing, singing and magical shows. The aquatic shows were fabulous!! Cuban Days on Fridays were very nicely done with lots of food variety and entertainment. Sugar Cane juice was a real treat! We did the Milan and Spoons A La Cartes. Lasagna, pizza, Surf N Turf, stuffed Ham and Chicken were all delicious. The food was wonderfully prepared and served by some wonderful people. Chavelis, Juan Carlos, Jessica and Daimarys were excellent at their jobs. Even the chefs and kitchen staff came to check that the meals were satisfactory Sunwing repeat guests dinners by the pool was very quiet and romantic. Steak and Lobster nicely prepared. We were served by a sweet dark haired girl whose name we did not get but her smile will always be remembered. The buffet was usually always busy and noisy but the service was friendly and attentive once you allowed the staff a chance to notice you. No one minded you calling them over for service if you were polite and patient. Servers recognized us after a day or 2 and greeted us with a smile and Spanish lesson. Sanctuary at Grand Memories Varadero Adults Only - All Inclusive

We stayed at this resort in Feb 2019 and decided to stay again in Mar 2020. My review is honest and we are not hard to please type of people. With that being said, sometimes it is the small details that will make or break a resort being mediocre or incredible. You are dropped off at the Grand Memories lobby, no big deal. However, there was not a single employee, bell boy to be found. I had to go to the front check in twice to request a ride to our lobby. In total, waited 45 minutes to get there. Once at our lobby they were pretty good, the bell boy was great and remembered us from the previous year so he did give us extra service. We had to wait until later in the day to get into our room, which was totally fine. We changed into our swimsuits and made our way to the beach to meet our friends. Beach is awesome and there is more then enough cover to be found. That being said, one of our party always got up to get a palapa in the morning. We stayed there all day from morning until 5 or 6 at night. We did see people "reserve" huts" and would never be there!! Annoying!!! Drinks were decent thanks to Natali and Amuray!! Room Building 32 on the garden side and we did have a slight ocean view. It was decent, however our towels were never changed, bed wasn't changed. Our maid was very nice, sorry I forget her name she was a blond lady. Room was cleaned every day. Our TV didn't work and it did take a few visits and on the 3rd day it was fixed by Able and Darvis. Good job by these 2 men!!!!!! We just like to watch the news at night. We had several instances where our room keyes wouldn't work and that meant several trips (3rd floor) several times during the week. Again, Able was able to rectify this, but it was still inconvenient. They actually replaced the unit 3 separate times. I don't get that. Food We did feel that there was a lack of items here. With that being said, the 2 a la cart dinners we had were very good and the presentation of those meals was excellent!! The soup was excellent, as was the lobster and the steak with accompanying sauce. Coffee and specialty coffee was excellent too! They tried hard with what they had to work with. General Property Our section of the hotel property as a whole was nice. A small bone of contention with me is smoking! Sorry, I am a non-smoker but not militant. There is no need to gather directly outside of the restaurant directly and puff away. It is a walkway of sorts or a common area and the number of people smoking was astonishing. Or the lobby area. There should be a designated buffer between. I don't want to walk out of the restaurant and be immediately hit with cigarette smoke. This leads to my point of the lack of ashtrays for same. The butts were everywhere! More on the Grand Memories section of that huge lobby. I was actually appalled. The staff do try their best to clean this up, but I did notice several times where the staff and guests would drop something an

My son(16) and I(47) went to Club Kawama for Christmas and New Years this year. First trip away at this time. We have travelled to Cuba many many times, have stayed all over the island. This was our first time in Varadero. When we arrived at the resort it was a pretty quick check-i(thankfully, I was exhausted) It was a wait for a bell boy(not unusual with everyone checking in)to help with our bags so my son and I decided to find our room ourselves. Upon arriving in our room I was a little disappointed as we were so far from front lobby, and yes, the room was a bit dated, but...We were in the sun, not the snow. It was a quieter area, quieter beach. There was a problem with the water(again, happens in cuban resorts) no hot water. We dealt with it for a day or two, then I mentioned it to the PR girl, Leida, she was amazing. I did not ask her for anything and did not complain, but I let her know that down in my area of rooms,there was no hot water. She came to us the next day and let us know that she was moving us. I did not ask for this. But found out it is just that simple to change rooms. Just request it and they do their best as fast as they can. The room she gave us was amazing. I have a bad back so she put us closer to the front also. We were there for 2 weeks and sure, started out rough, I would not have gone back on my first impression, But the staff were amazing,happy and helpful, the food was great(typical Cuban) I take my own sauces, salad dressing and peanut butter ect. The beach was to die for!! Best I have seen in all of Cuba. Tido, the door man was a great guy. Always helpful,joking and smiling. If you need anything, he is the man. Front desk was always friendly and smiling, all but 1. Lol This is by far the best resort I have been to. It felt like home, and I am a very particular person. This resort may not be a 10 to everyone,but it's a 10/10 to me. It's all in what you make it. If you are coming to Cuba, please have Cuban expectations. It is a very amazing Country with amazing people, and they do the very best with what they have available. Make the most of it...there is no snow!!😂🤣

Another amazing stay at the Arenas Dorada. The staff are all so attentive and kind, in the lobby bar, you will meet Pepe, Jose, Daniel and Lisandra to name only a few who are waiting to prepare your favourite drink. Must not forget Edouardo and Dayana at the beach bar. In the restaurant Islay, Leidys, Yamelis, Adalys, Dianelis Dianela and Yolanka are a few of the many staff to greet you with a warm welcome smile and ensure your dining experience is as pleasant as can be. And the food is always good. Don't forget to stop by the coffee bar for a cappuccino or cafe bombon and meet Maria, Aracelys, Rafael or Niurys. At the front desk where Onys, Joly and the rest of the team gladly help answer all your questions.You have a problem or concern, Santi in Client Services is there to help. Sometimes we forget the staff that keep the place clean, maintenance, the maids the ground keeper, everyone plays an important role in making your stay perfect . To sum things up, staff are amazing, food is good and has good selection, rooms are clean and the beach is awesome. All I can say is kudos to all the hard working staff...I'll be back!!

From the moment you are greeted, you feel comfortable and in good hands. All hygiene standards are adhered to 100%. The facility is in really good condition and is very well maintained despite its age. An army of staff provides the right atmosphere. In particular, Idelsis from the Coucierge team takes care of all the requests you make of her. But the other members of the staff also do a very good job. Whether it's J.D. who acts as a fitness trainer or entertainer, the entire kitchen and service staff or the staff in the wellness area, everyone always has a smile for the guests and is friendly and courteous through and through. Covid restricts the choice of restaurants, which is certainly the case with 50 guests in an 840-bed building, and I fully understand this. Nevertheless, the food is freshly prepared and very tasty. And with staff like Ramona (she makes the egg dishes in the morning), you can see the smile even through the mask. The massages are wonderful and you can even get a haircut. And here, too, you always get a very professional service and the staff are great. So in the end you can say you had a wonderful time and that despite Covid limitations. I can only recommend this hotel.
