Reviews of Sol Varadero Beach

The food made by the all-inclusive hotel is so terrible. They can't control the saltiness and doneness of the food well. They don't want tourists to eat well, but at least they should let tourists eat enough. Haven't you seen that the hotel is fully occupied, and many foods are not touched by anyone?

Breakfast was edible, but lunch and dinner were completely uneatable. The environment was okay, but there were a lot of mosquitoes. A Beijing girl was bitten all over. At first, I thought they only bit Chinese people, but then I saw white people and black people biting them. It turns out mosquitoes don't discriminate. Don't think Varadero's sea is a cheaper alternative to Cancun's. Public transportation in Cuba is underdeveloped, the service industry lacks a sense of service, and all travel is in US dollars. Overall, the cost is about the same as in Cancun.

The room is average, a bit noisy around

The food and service were excellent but we had problems with the towels in both the bathroom and the pool and the communication between the cleaning staff and the front desk workers was not good.

It is impossible to find beach towels. Due to the low flow of water, the toilet bowl was filling in 1 hour. The food was good. Especially in the à la carte restaurant. The staff were very pleasant. They helped in times of need. The hotel location is a half hour walk from the center. Thanks for everything.

Nice hotel, good service near the beach and very delicious food. I recommend it for vacations.

乾淨衞生，風景優美

It was a last-minute vacation, and I decided to go here instead of my regular go-to resort in varadero. that was a good decision, and i discovered another great resort to go to in cuba. this place has a great beach (of course) and a good selection of food. the entertainment team also did a great job throughout the week. the resort facility is new and also well maintained. the pool and beach bars open later than I expected (another win). I also want to mention the food. this place has a lot of options and can fit different dietary preferences well. I have been to cuba multiple times and visited multiple resorts. I think this resort has a very good vegetarian options. I actually ran into a couple of vegetarians. they were happy with the food choices too. I think i will take my vegetarian friend to here next time I come. only thing is the swimming pool is shallower than I expected, most of area is only 50 to 60 cm or around or less than 2 feet, if the pool is deeper, it will make the resort even better. last but not least, I need to mention and give my thanks to the professional and friendly staff. they made the trip better

Had a great time, relaxed. Pool bars etc were great. Staff are very friendly welcoming. Particularly Thallia in the lobby bar. A very kind thoughtful young lady. Who looked after us each day and evening. Caring and understanding that we didn't speak Spanish, russian or french. Able to have interesting conversation in English.

The hotel is +16 so no kids around. The hotel is not very big which is manageable for walking. Plenty of shades and chairs at the pool and the beach, you don’t have to wake up early to book. The beach is beyond imagination, clear, turquoise water and calm. This place is all about the beach and the people. Our 1st night upon late arrival was not pleasant as the food in the main restaurant was inedible, I went to complain to the chef and then to the guest service desk, I was tired, and hungry and couldn’t find anything to eat at the buffet with my husband, plus a cat that is wondering inside the hotel and into the restaurant. Lionel at the guest office tried to keep me calm and explained that his role was guest satisfaction and he will help us to have a good experience. He is a good man, professional and cares about the hotel brand and reputation so he is here to solve guest problems so they return again. He managed with his calm demeanour to switch our anger into seeing things in different way. Anyway he was helpful and booked for us the dinning at 3 different restaurants for the duration of our stay, thank you Lionel for what you do to this hotel, they are lucky to have you. We spent 4 nights only not 7 as we had to return back to Toronto for few matters. The pool is kept well, people work hard. You cannot dive or jump as maximum height is 0.95 cm. There is a snack bar 24/7 drinks are good, food is not good, they serve hotdogs, burger, ham and cheese or chicken shredded sandwich. Don’t count on this as quality is not what you want and taste is blend and won’t fill you up. The buffet restaurant is your best friend but i recommend you bring some of your spices with you as food has no taste. Rooms or at least ours was outdated and requires a lot of maintenance and renovation, but for the few nights, we hold our nose. There are good quality beach towels in each room for the duration of your stay, keep them and don’t loose them, they are not replaced. There is a kettle in the room and two drinking mugs and two glasses but nothing else to use to make tea or coffee, so bring your own tea bags or whatever you need the kettle for. There are towels in the rooms but I bring my own as well. Toiletries if you are picky bring yours, we brought ours. Overall the hotel is ok and the beach is very good, but the food is an issue unless you can manage or go outside to eat, we went outside to Varadero 60 ( 2-3 km from the hotel with a taxi that cost USD 10/ per way) and we had a great meal there after 4 nights of no good food at the hotel. I posted a review about Varadero 60 restaurant. Are we coming back? I would but only for the beach. My family agrees to look for another option in Varadero that might have slightly better food, specially that many hotels in Varadero have good beaches.

The resort is just amazing. Beach is perfect white sands and crystal clear blue. Service around the resort is perfect as well. Everyone here is doing their best to help you enjoy your time to the max.

This hotel and resort it's fabulous. The food it's delicious my room it's very clean spacious the housekeeping it's fantastic. The staff members from the gardeners to the management office are Awesome. Norleidy one of the managers it's just one of a kind. Johana it's Very Special. Love to all.
