Vishnu Rest House

I love Vishnu Rest House. This was my third stay. It has a great outlook overlooking the Ganges. Book ahead and choose a room at the front. The people are reserved but great.

Very basic accommodation. Clean enough. Great location. Staff were quite friendly, but not the best experience I've had. Hard to find though, walking quite a distance from the nearest road. Great views, right on the river. The boat *** associated with the hotel was great, and took us for a private boat trip on the Ganges in the evening, and then parked up to watch the ceremony at Dashashwamedh Ghat.

French woman traveling alone, I greatly appreciated the warm welcome and kindness of my hostess. The team at the Vishnu Rest Hotel is also very attentive. The rooms are comfortable and equipped with mosquito nets. I preferred the rooms with windows overlooking the Ganges. The restaurant service is impeccable. The terraces (covered and shaded or sunny) are a real plus. The view of the Varanasi ghats is sublime. Close to the city's iconic and historical sites, the Vishnu Rest Hotel is ideally located. The value for money is very good. I highly recommend this hotel and will gladly return. Marie (France 🇫🇷)

Excellent basic place to stay in old Varanasi

Unreservedly recommend as only downside is little challenging to find and get to (travel light on packing!) but Priya and staff go above and beyond. I will definitely be returning - have loved every minute of my stay/ Varanasi adventure. It is a functional environment without unnecessary luxuries but clean and with everything needed - available food is good and bottled water can be bought from reception - rooms have fans - there is a Vishnu temple at its heart and shiva lingum in side street so I love that my room is in middle and feel very blessed with Ganga in spectacular view.

Great Experience. Very good price. The rooms are very clean and you have two towels. The guest house is very nice located in the old town so you can easily reach all the popular attractions convenient. You also have an easy access to the ghats.

Average hotel with basic amenities. There are rooms with common washroom and with attached bathroom as well. Room has AC, fan and basic bedding. No TV, water, tea coffee maker. Location of the place is excellent, just on the ghat with a view of river Ganga. This is the best thing about this place. Staff was courteous. I didn’t eat much but whatever i ate was good enough. As this is near to ghats you will have to walk or take a two wheeler to reach to the place.

perfect place to explore Varanasi next to the ghat of the Ganges ceremonies. Nice and clean rooms, clean bathroom, great terrace with a view of the Ganges, all in all we felt very comfortable.If we come to Varanasi again, we would definitely come here again

Very well maintained resthouse with a beautiful view of the Holy Ganges. The staff is very cooperative and helpful they also have a lovely cafe overlooking the ghats which serves a variety of cuisines. The best part is the location of the place.
