Downtown Varenna by George is located in the characteristic historic center of Varenna (pearl of central Como Lake) in a completely renovated historic building. The apartment is on the second and top floor of the building, it's just 10 minutes by walk from train station, 5 from ferry and literally two steps far from main square, groceries, cafés, restaurants, public services and beaches.
Downtown Varenna by George can accommodate up to 4 people (bedroom with double bed and double sofa bed in the living room). Inside, a kitchen, a comfortable living room overlooking the characteristic "contrade - districts" of the village, a comfortable and spacious bedroom on the upper floor with lake view, a bathroom with shower and washing machine, a flat-screen TV.
The apartment is the ideal either for a relaxing holiday or as a base to discover all the attractions of the Lake Como!
Guests will have full availability of the apartment.
Guests can expect a prompt communication with the host, that will be available to receive them and offer guidance and support.
The apt is inside a pedestrian zone in the old center of Varenna, overlooking its promenade: all the restaurants, bars and shops are at 50 mts maximum distance. The apt is just 5 min walking distance from the ferry and the passenger boat docks, and 10 min walk from the railway station.

At the railway station there is the agency "I Viaggi del Tivano", where you can get information on timetables, means of transport and locations that can be easily reached from Varenna (for example Bellano 10 minutes away, Saint Moritz ...), it is also possible rent bicycles. In the main square of the village there are two grocery stores that sell a little bit of everything, the post office and the pharmacy.
Parking in Varenna in summer is difficult: there are free parking spaces (white lines - hardly free and generally available for a maximum of 4 consecutive hours), paid parking spaces (blue lines - about 1 euro / h, from 8-12.30 and 14.00) 19.30, numerous in the station square); while it is forbidden to park on the yellow lines (reserved). At the entrance of the village, 200 meters from the house, there is a large paid municipal parking (20 euros / 24hs).

A guesthouse well located and equipped with all the household essentials is reasonably priced. We find it comfortable to stay for two days. It is just near the lakeside and easily access to the ferry to Bellagio. We will stay here again next time for sure.

Perfect Varenna Stay
Lovely top floor apartment is centrally located in Varenna, just a short distance from the main piazza and has everything provided for a comfortable stay. The bed was comfortable and the air conditioning welcome. The property owner is friendly, has excellent communication skills, is very knowledgeable about the area and offered excellent recommendations. You may even meet his charming father. I highly recommend!

Best stay at a reasonable price!
This is our second time staying here. We love the location, as it sits atop a wine bar. It is also close to some of the best food in Varenna. The host has always been nice, and he is easy to contact. We love this place and highly recommend it.

Cozy and Charming
We loved our stay in Varrena. The apartment was very relaxing and peaceful. We slept soundly in the upstairs loft. Location excellent for exploring the beautiful town. Great communication via text for recommendations and assistance. They provided suggestions for parking in a garage not too far away. We cannot wait to return.

Amazing
This place is perfect! Right in the heart of Varenna and walking distance to everything. If you are in Italy, you already know that there are lots of stairs. This apartment is on the 3rd floor so pack light. It is a walk from the train station so be ready to haul your gear but worth every step! Enjoy!

Wonderful Stay in Varenna!
We spent two days in Varenna and the location was just perfect! The apartment was quite clean and comfortable for our family of four. Both the waterfront and S. Giorgio Piazza were readily accessible. Even in the offseason, there were plenty of restaurants and shopping nearby. Ettore was a gracious host and easy to communicate with. Ettore’s father was a great help to us and gave us rides to/from the train station! We highly recommend!!

It was a great experience staying at this location, its close to everything. The only drawback is it's not quite till about 10pm since there are so many restaurants and Wine bars downstairs.

We are in Italy!!
Ettore’s dad picked us up in the next town because we couldn’t get the train doors to open! So nice of him. Personal escort to the apartment and how to use everything. Lovely town. Ettore was awesome to communicate with us all along through What’s App! Everything was super clean! There is a 3 flights of stairs to get to the apartment. Also, a winding staircase to get to the bedroom upstairs. If you have mobility issues it might be hard to navigate, especially bathroom trips at night. We would definitely stay here again! Ettore took us back to the train station, so kind!! We loved the place!!
