Fabulous location within walking distance of the historical sights, wonderful restaurants and shopping; yet still quiet and serene. The service is fabulous, every staff member addressed us by name and met every request graciously. Breakfast on the terrazzo overlooking the Grand Canal was a highlight.

All the other positive reviews are accurate although words cannot really convey how fabulous it is to stay here. This hotel is beyond outstanding on so many levels. In no particular order: location cannot be beaten; the rooms are spacious and sumptuous (we stayed in a canal view room which was divine but really a view’s not necessary. Book what you can.); breakfast and drinks on the terrace with the view of the Rialto Bridge and watching the world go by on the Grand Canal is just wonderful; daily breakfast itself is a gourmet delight; the restored palazzo is just gorgeous and of course the staff are incredible. Thank you Matteo, Barbara, Oliver, Alexander, Gigi, Giam-Paul (apologies for incorrect spelling) and another lovely gentleman who served us at breakfast (I’m sorry not to have your name). You all made our stay so special and memorable. If considering whether or not to stay here at Al Ponte Antico, don’t overthink it and don’t delay. If there’s a vacancy grab it. You won’t be sorry. Also ask the hotel to book your water taxi from the airport or train. Expensive form of transport but worth it. Thank you to the hotel team for a fantastic (but too short) stay.

The Al Ponte Antico was the perfect place to start our honeymoon in Italy. We stayed for 4 nights and enjoyed every minute! The service was excellent, all of the staff members knew our names, and were helpful with recommendations and tips for navigating Venice. They were incredibly welcoming and truly made it feel like home. Matteo, the owner, was there when we arrived and every morning for breakfast. Probably the best service I've ever experienced at any hotel. Our room was spacious and the decor felt authentic to Venice. It's in an old (beautiful!) palazzo, so the lighting in our room was a little wonky from time to time, but it wasn't a big deal. It's impeccable location on the grand canal, overlooking the Rialto Bridge did also bring some nighttime noise, but it was totally worth it. Breakfast was great and a wonderful way to start each day. Don't miss the chance to get a cappuccino or caffe latte from their impressive copper espresso machine. It was a bit too chilly in the mornings during our visit to eat on the patio, but we spent almost every afternoon there enjoying the view and apertivos. Those afternoons were a highlight of our visit.

The hotel staff were very friendly and provided us with excellent suggestions for restaurants and site seeing. The breakfast was lovely with omelettes cooked by the hotel owner! Brilliant view of the Rialto bridge and the canal from the terrace. Thanks to all the staff for a fabulous stay.

We stayed here for 4 nights in a junior suite with private terrace. The room was spacious, very clean and a very comfortable bed. It is only a few minutes walk from the Rialto bridge and is very convenient for all the tourist spots. After a day of walking it was great to sit on the terrace and watch the gondolas go past. Breakfast is very good with plenty of choice and lots of home made bread and pastries. A fabulous stay.

Incredible hotel. Incredible service. THE place to stay in Venice. Absolutely fabulous location, beautiful rooms and amazing breakfast. The best bit? The staff. They are simply wonderful. All of them (Oliver, Pepe, Alex and owners Matteo and Barbara - thank you!!). I proposed to my (now!) fiance on our hotel terrace and the hotel team helped make that moment, and every other moment we spent at their beautiful hotel memorable and perfect. We WILL be back to stay at this incredible hotel again. And if you are reading this, looking for somewhere to stay in Venice, you should too. You will NOT be disappointed.

What a wonderful hotel and Venice experience. All the staff were exceptional to us during our stay. Water taxi from the train station was about 15-20 minutes down the main channel, immediately giving us a tour of the city and its architecture, markets, homes, and hotels. Location is next to Rialto Bridge and 10 minute walking distance to almost anything we chose to see during our stay. The canal patio was always a pleasure to relax on and have a “Select Spritz.” The breakfasts were always a well prepared spread and ready-to-order eggs were a delight. There is no restaurant on-site but many within a very short walking distance. Hotel staff was able to provide patio snacks in the form of olives and potato chips. The café machine is 1/1 and a sight to see by itself. Gorgeous! For those unfamiliar or curious, some rooms have walk-in showers while others are bathtub showers. We often heard they were smaller than what our friends were used to at home. I had a bathtub shower and while tight, it was easy enough for my wife and I to use. I recommend when booking, you be specific about shower access if you need specific access requirements. Bedrooms and beds were comfortable and spacious. House staff would even turn-down our beds in the evening before our return from dinner that evening. I would highly recommend a stay here for anyone wanting to visit Venice. Bravo Al Ponte Antico Hotel!!!

Wow ! This hotel is beautiful. The outside terrace overlooks the grande canal, where you can sit to enjoy your breakfast or drinks. All the staff are honestly the most friendly, welcoming and helpful hotel staff I’ve ever met. All the recommendations from the lovely staff really enhanced our stay. Barbara’s home cooked breakfast treats were truly delicious alongside perfect eggs and a cappuccino. I was in heaven. Thank you so much. I would recommend this place to anyone ! It’s been a perfect stay

My wife and I have been here for 5 days in room 109, the suite with a patio overlooking the canal. From the initial booking months ago up until today, it has been an exceptional experience. The proprietors are exceptionally kind, helping us arrange transportation from the airport to the front door. All of the staff here are very helpful and kind, from the front desk attendants to those clearing the tables at breakfast. And that breakfast, wow! Neither of us are big breakfast eaters and rarely get up before noon, but its was quite lovely and the setting is absolutely breathtaking. It's apparent that everyone who works here takes great pride in this hotel, As they should. The location is perfect. We have walked to all the sites the last few days and never felt unsafe. There are numerous restaurants and places to shop within just a few blocks. The recommendations from the front desk have been spot on. They are there 24 hours and have been an immense resource, from directions and recommendations to having an umbrella waiting for us on a rainy day. The patio outside our door opens up to a spectacular view of the rialto bridge and is the best spot in Venice to sit back, relax, people watch, and have a romantic meal and drinks

Apologies for the delayed review - my wife and I enjoyed a 2 night break in the luxury of this intimate hotel. The welcome and interactions from Barbara & Bruno were warm and welcoming - they truly made you feel valued! From personal emails prior to arrival to the advice and pre booking of restaurants added to that personal touch! There simply was nothing to fault - from the stunning location with the seating area overlooking the grand canal and rialto bridge …. Breathtaking! The lounge area is simply elegant - a great place to relax after a day of sightseeing! As are the rooms - traditional and luxurious to say the least! Breakfast …… from Barbara’s home baked goodies to Bruno’s omelettes …. To die for! Nothing was too much for any of the staff … even heading out get plasters for my wife! All the staff offered the personal touch - forgive me for not naming you all separately! I look forward to welcoming you to Ireland when you make the trip! Hope you enjoyed the Tayto 😀 Truly a gem in the heart of Venice!

I spent 5 nights at this lovely hotel in November 2024. It was a wonderful experience. The hotel is located close to the Santa Lucia Train Station and on the main water bus (vaporetto) line. In fact, there is a vaporetto station at the top of the street on which the hotel is located, so it was easy to get to and from many of the most important monuments and museums, some of which were also within walking distance. The hotel was clean, my room was very comfortable, and the included breakfast was excellent. The staff were very friendly, extremely helpful and very accommodating. I will definitely come back to this lovely hotel.

I can't say enough good things about Al PONTE ANTICO. It's one of my most favorite hotels I have ever stayed at in the world. Built in a renovated palace from the 1500s, it exemplifies the concept of Venetian opulence. There are only 9 rooms, all decorated incredibly. The staff was absolutely amazing, friendly and helpful with everything we needed. The owners themselves were present, and they cook and serve the most amazing breakfast themselves every single morning. The area it is situated in is extremely centrally located, it's in the perfect spot for everywhere you need to get to around the city. Everyone there is incredibly welcoming, I already can't wait to go back. This is the only place I would ever stay in again in Venice.

Best hotel experience I've ever had in my life! Absolutely loved staying here last month for my first solo international trip! They made me feel right at home during what could have been a nerve racking experience alone. I actually got lost trying to find the hotel since I arrived late at night after no sleep on the airplane flight over from the US. The manager on duty that night came and found me and brought me safely to the hotel! I have to say most hotels would never ever do this for someone. I cannot wait to go back and stay again!

When planning to end our Italian trip with Venice, I wanted to feel like I was in old-world Venice. This location gave me everything I hoped for. This small hotel pampers its guests with friendly staff and beautiful accommodations. The location feels somewhat hidden, yet is on the Grand Canal. We enjoyed spending time relaxing on the terrace. I find when traveling with my husband, staff frequently direct their attention to him, and I'm left as an afterthought. Not here. Every staff member addressed me directly and with kindness during each encounter. I really appreciated Oliver and Gigi. When I mentioned the unexpectedly warm temps for October, a fan was brought to our room because the air conditioning was turned off for the season. We were given great recommendations for day trips, shopping, and restaurants. If I make it back to Venice, we will definitely stay here again.
