Hotel Tikar

What a little gem. We only went for lunch but was really impressed. The wine list was outstanding. I am so glad we found this hotel. We will definitely stay there next year. Food was excellent. Reminded me of a little boutique hotel in Goa. Absolutely wonderful.

Private boutique hotel & restaurant owned run by Sean and Beatrice. Lovely hosts ... Food exceptional. Wine tasting afternoons, menu del dia, private groups catered for. They also organise wine trips in the region for a fabulous day out. The garden to the rear of the restaurant is an absolute haven ...so peaceful and with a small pool in which you can sit and dip your toes even!! Excellent location for a chill out. There is also an in house bodega with an amazing array of wines.... And Sean does a mean martini espresso too!!

Hidden gem! Only stayed for one night. Clean comfortable and very welcoming atmosphere. The food was wonderful in the beautiful garden.

Just outside Garrucha you could easily miss it driving by. A must to eat here where you receive a warm welcome from Sean and his wife. A native American who now lives in Spain. Sean is wine connoisseur who has a wine shop in the hotel/restaurant. The restaurant is tasteful decorated and very nice. We usually eat outside in the garden which has a banana tree and small pool. The food is delicious and a must to eat here. There are music nights and wine tours organised by Sean too. I recommend the seafood chowder as a starter. We have eaten here a few times now and look forward to more. We've not stayed in the hotel though. It's worth booking!

Excellent! Lovely small hotel and restaurant with great friendly but professional owners. Surroundings are lovely and the food delicious with exceptional service. Wished we’d found the place earlier on on our holiday as we would’ve been back there before we left for home. Would 100% recommend.

THE GOOD The suite we stayed in was clean enough, sitting room bedroom and ensuite with air conditioners in both main rooms. The hotel has a cracking wine shop and a better than decent restaurant which extends to the garden providing a really nice spot for dinner and/or breakfast. THE BAD If the pool and a swim is important to you then don't be fooled by clever pics on ***********. The pool is small and (at least while we were there) filthy and completely unusable. Also be aware if you buy wine in the hotels wine shop and expect to have it with dinner you will be charged corkage of 6 euros. I found this a little difficult to swallow because in my opinion I have paid to stay at the hotel. I have bought the wine at the hotel and never removed it from the premises, ergo I didn't expect the corkage. If I had bought wine from an off licence/super market then fare enough but this is not the case. SUMMARY Nice room, good food in nice restaurant setting, filthy and completely unusable pool

A small, very special hotel which is owned and run by Sean & Beatriz. We had a fabulous menu del dia with friends in the secluded garden area at the rear of the hotel, which has a small swimming pool for residents. Great selection of food on the menu and also the wine list. Sean and Beatriz are excellent hosts. Sean is exceptionally knowledgeable about wine and there is a wine shop within the hotel with a superb selection available to purchase.

We have dined at Hotel Tikar before but in September my sister and her husband came on holiday with us for a week and they had a stopover at HT for a night before their flight from Murcia. Both had had a difficult year ,both recovered from Covid and both in the riper years . A week of total relaxation in the glorious Andalusian sunshine was completed by a stay at HT with an evening meal ,which I have to say is probably the best meal I have had in any restaurant . The service ,the wine ,the food were totally faultless and the setting in the outside restaurant was superb…. The evening completed by a wonderful stay in the hotel for my sister and her husband Who both reported that they had had a great time and rested for the flight back to the UK. Why can’t all hotels be like this one ??? Highly recommended .

My son went here with his wife during the week for evening meal and said it was EXCEPTIONAL. They are particular with their restaurants and this was their first visit and will be back! Ambience, food, hosts brilliant
