This hotel is amazing ! Staff are super helpful and attentive - nothing is too much trouble for them. Room service is the best I’ve ever had - fresh pasta delivered to the room in under 20 min (had hangovers)! In the best location - right in the hustle bustle but rooms are so quiet . We will 100% be coming back here .

Ich habe im November 2023 das Hotel zwei Nächte von Freitag bis Sonntag besucht. Ich kenne es seit ca. zehn Jahren und bin fast alle Jahre ein bis zwei Mal pro Jahr dort gerne abgestiegen. Sauberkeit, Küche und Service habe ich stets geschätzt. Das Hotel hat auch ein sehr gutes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis. Nun aber hat sich vieles verändert. Am Samstag Abend war für uns Hotelgäste das Restaurant ohne Vorankündigung geschlossen. Mit zwei grösseren geschlossenen Gesellschaften war die Küche offenbar voll ausgelastet und alle anderen Gäste mussten auswärts essen gehen. Am Samstag Abend war das Restaurant dann für uns offen und das Abendessen war recht gut. Samstag Nacht: Im geräumigen Keller des Kreuzganges fand eine Party statt. Ich hatte ein Zimmer im ersten Stock mit Blick in den Garten und leider auch schräg über dem Kellergewölbe. Die ganze Nacht lang bis zwei Uhr morgens ertönte laute Musik gemischt mit unprofessionellem Klaviergeklimper, sozusagen in einer Schlaufe. Ich habe ganze vier Stunden geschlafen. Sonntag Morgen: Beim Frühstück war das aufgeschnittene Weissbrot stark angetrocknet, es stammte wahrscheinlich vom Vortag. Auf dem Tresen stand eine ziemlich neue moderne Kaffeemaschine. Cappucino aus dem Automaten: Anstatt mit frischer Milch arbeitet die Maschine mit Milchpulver. Der Cappucino war schlicht ungeniessbar. Auf Verlangen hin bekamen wir dann aber frische heisse Milch. – Das Wochenende hatte ich mir anders vorgestellt. Seit ca. zwei Jahren hat das Hotel ein neues Management, das mit durschschlagendem Erfolg daran arbeitet, den vormals ausgezeichneten Ruf des Hotels zu zerstören. Mich dauern die langjährigen Angestellten an der Reception und im Service. Das Rezept des Managements ist offensichtlich Gewinnmaximierung um jeden Preis, völlig egal, ob dabei Gäste und Stammgäste vergrault werden. In Italien eine Kaffeemaschine mit Milchpulver zu betreiben ist eine Todsünde und eine Beleidigung für die kulinarisch hochstehende Region Piemont. Dem Hotel empfehle ich, wenn es seinen ehemals guten Ruf behalten möchte, das Management dringend auszuwechseln und von schnöder Gewinnmaximierung Abstand zu nehmen. We visit Intra on a regular basis to catch up with family and have stayed at hotel Ancona on each of our last 4 visits. We keep coming back because each visit is such a pleasant experience. You can not get a better location overlooking the lakefront and near the ferry terminal and the main square. The rooms are generally a good size with all needs catered for. We normally stay in the apartments which are larger but cheaper than the lakefront rooms and more suited to a longer (7-10 day) stay. Even though these rooms don’t have a view themselves you can sit out on the front patio, overlooking the lake, for breakfast and in the early evening (or anytime you want). Breakfast is definitely a unique offering with fresh orange juice squeezing machine, blocks of chocolate, real honeycomb, as well as a good selection of more standard offerings. All the staff are very friendly and helpful and you see the manager at breakfast most mornings checking up on how things are going. Highly recommended and certainly better value than the bigger hotels in Stresa.

The wonderful view of the lake makes the stay charming.. The hotel is clean, the friendly staff and the super breakfasts ...😋 If you want to walk, you can walk to Villa Taranto where you can admire majestious villas on the lake.. Also along the walk about 1km from the hotel, you can find the board for the islands where everything is organised and make the excursions a very pleasant exit. It was a beautiful experience 🤗

Ho trascorso alcuni giorni in questo hotel con la mia famiglia, restando subito colpita dalla bellezza dell’ambiente, per gli ampi spazi molto curati sia all’esterno che all’interno: ci ha accolto un giardino con un prato verde e rigogliosi alberi fioriti, e ci è venuto incontro personale gentilissimo che ci ha portato i bagagli in camera e ci ha indicato il parcheggio dell’hotel. All’interno, bei salotti arredati con eleganza e guarniti con piante e fiori freschi, e una sala da pranzo piena di luce grazie alle pareti tutte a vetro, affacciate sul giardino. All’ultimo piano, una grande terrazza da cui si gode la splendida vista del lago e delle sue isole. Sul dietro c’è una bella piscina che in primavera non è ancora fruibile ma che d’estate sicuramente offre un piacevole refrigerio. Ci siamo sentiti coccolati e abbiamo trovato disponibilità anche da parte del personale di sala (abbiamo usufruito del trattamento di mezza pensione) pronto a venire incontro alle esigenze dei miei nipotini di uno e cinque anni. La posizione dell’hotel è ottima, vicina al centro e al lungolago, e in particolare a due passi dalla partenza dei traghetti per le isole. Insomma, consigliatissimo!!!!

In fact everything was very good. Breakfast perfect. The food in the Last Hall restaurant could be a better ticket, for example, not being served hard. Additional cost for the deep garage parking place of € 19 /Tag, in a few parking places on the hotel area, is already sporty especially when booking, As far as I remember, it is not expressly mentioned and no hidden costs would be expected. So look carefully.
